Okay, guys, the Running Back battle, much like the QB race, turned out not to be so competitive. Here are the results:
64.5% of you decided that we should keep 4 Running Backs. Player voting was pretty uncompetitive. Leon Washington (98.11%), Thomas Jones (92.23%), Tony Richardson (86.88%), and Jesse Chatman (84.91%) all make the cut.
Eliminated from the roster were Jehuu Caulcrick (18.87%), Musa Smith (15.09%), and Rodney Kinlaw (3.77%)

So far, here's the roster: With 7 slots gone, we have 46 spaces left to fill the roster.
    QB Kellen Clemens
    QB Brett Favre
    QB Brett Ratliff
    RB Jesse Chatman
    RB Thomas Jones
    RB Tony Richardson
    RB Leon Washington
    WR Laveranues Coles
    WR Jerricho Cotchery

We now turn our focus to a position that figures to have some tight voting: Wide Receivers
Note: Given the high number of wide receivers, I will exempt Laveranues Coles and Jerricho Cotchery from the voting. They are to be considered part of the 53-man roster

David Ball 6'1 201 enters his second season in the NFL. Last year, he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Bears, and spent time on their practice squad. When Ball was cut from the Bears' practice squad, the Jets signed him to their practice squad, activating him for one game. Ball had a highly prolific career at New Hampshire, with 4,693 receiving yards and 58 touchdowns.

David Clowney 6'1 188 also enters his second season in the NFL. Drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 5th round of the 2007 NFL draft, Clowney was cut from the team after training camp. The Jets signed Clowney to their practice squad last October, repeatedly releasing Clowney and re-signing him. Clowney made a big impact in the Jets first preseason game, with two 70-yard touchdown catches, before injuring his collarbone in their second game.

Marcus Henry 6'4 207 is a rookie for the 2008 campaign. The Jets selected Henry, out of Kansas, with their 6th round selection in the 2008 NFL draft. Henry had an extraordinarily productive senior season with Kansas in 2007, making 54 catches for 1,014 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Paul Raymond 5'10 170 is also a rookie in 2008. Signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent following the 2008 NFL draft, Raymond had a very productive career at Brown. In his senior season, Raymond caught 55 balls for 978 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Brad Smith 6'2 210 enters his third season in the NFL. Drafted by Jets in the 4th round of the 2006 NFL Draft, Smith had a highly productive career as the quarterback of Missouri. Smith was converted to wide receiver almost immediately by the Jets, but has also seen time at running back and quarterback. Last year, Smith caught 32 passes for 325 yards with 2 touchdowns. He also ran the ball 12 times for 45 yards, and threw one incomplete pass.

Chansi Stuckey 6'0 196 enters his second NFL season. The Jets selected Stuckey, out of Clemson, with their 7th round selection in the 2007 NFL Draft. Stuckey missed all of 2007 with a foot injury suffered in the preseason. In his final season at Clemson, Stuckey caught 50 passes for 700 yards with 3 touchdowns.

Wallace Wright 6'1 191 enters his 3rd season as a pro. Signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent following the 2006 NFL Draft, Wright attended college at UNC. Wright played in all 16 games for the Jets last year, starting one. He caught 6 passes for 87 yards, but has made more of an impact on special teams for the Jets, where he made 15 special teams tackles last season.

REMEMBER: Coles and Cotchery are already on the roster, when voting on the number of wide receivers, they are included. For player voting, select two fewer players than you wanted at the position.

I like Henry as our big WR and Brad Smith is Brad Smith, one of our few play makers (last year) and a great ST guy. Clowney has had 2 very solid games lets hope is injury isnt too severe.

I'm assuming Clowney is getting IR'd.

4 - Henry, Smith, Stuckey and Wright

If Clowney gets IR-ed, we'll know, so I would then add the next highest vote getter. For now, assume that he is not going on the IR or PUP.

FWIW, I voted for Smith, Clowney, Stuckey, and Wright. Wright is too good on ST not to include on the roster. Henry is PS-eligible, but because Keller is almost another WR, I don't think we need to worry about getting catches from a guy like Henry.

You have to assume Clowney will be put on IR or PUP - you can't just ignore his injury.

No way Henry clears waivers for the PS either ...

You don't know and I don't know the severity. Do I expect him to go in IR or PUP, yes, but I can't assume that he will, because when you assume, you make an ass out of u and me.

We know for a fact that he injured his collarbone. That takes a minimum of 4-6 weeks to heal (and maybe the entire season). It's fair and reasonable to conclude he's going to be gone for an extended period of time.

I already told you the solution. If Clowney (or anyone else, for that matter) is placed by the Jets on the PUP or IR list, I will take the next highest vote getter to make the team. I don't see any other way to make a judicious decision.

I figured Clowney onto IR when I voted, before you added this rule.

I didn't vote for Henry because I hate rookie receivers. (See Raymond in the end zone last week.)

For me it was Smith, Stuckey and Wright.

Wallace Wright has to make the team.. With one of the better special teamers, Brad Kassell, on IR we especially need Wright now.

If Clowney does not go on IR: Smith - Stuckey - Clowney - Wright

If Clowney does go on IR: Smith - Stuckey - Wright - Henry

The voting is shaping up pretty interesting. It looks like Smith and Stuckey are givens. If Clowney isn't put on PUP or IR, he's in. It looks like the 6 slot will be a fight until the end, unless Clowney is PUP/IR

A big but raw receiver with good upside vs an OK receiver who's a special teams ace. Which guy is best for the last roster spot at WR ?

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Brad Smith and Wallace Wright had better be on this team. Both are GREAT special teamers. Stuckey has flashed brilliance throughout camp so i expect him to be on team. And i think Marcus Henry will nab the last spot fro Clowney. Solely because of the collarbone injury
