Okay, fellas, with the quarterback battle virtually non-existent, lets go to the results and move on to choosing running backs for the 2008-09 New York Jets.

    Results from the Quarterbacks
How many to keep: 82% of you voted to keep 3 Quarterbacks on the Active Roster, leaving 50 slots open for the rest of the team
Who to take: Brett Ratliff (75%), Brett Favre (73.92%), and Kellen Clemens (64.13) make the team. Erik Ainge (15.22%) is left off the 53-man roster.

With 3 players already on the 53-man roster, we have 50 slots remaining for other players.

We now turn our focus to Running Backs:
Thomas Jones 5'10 215 enters his 9th season in the NFL. Last year after being acquired for a second-round draft pick, Jones racked up 1,119 yards with 1 touchdowns on 310 carries (3.6 YPC) for the Jets. Jones also caught 28 balls for 217 yards.

Leon Washington 5'8 210 enters his 3rd season for the Jets. The 2006 4th round draft pick amassed 363 yards with 3 touchdowns on 71 carries for the Jets last season, for a 5.0 YPC average. He also caught 36 passes for 213 yards. Washington, the team-voted MVP for 2007, made a significant impact on special teams for the Jets last year, averaged 27.5 yards per kickoff return with 3 touchdowns.

Tony Richardson 6'1 238 will enter his 14th season in the NFL. Richardson was signed as a free agent by the New York Jets prior to the 2008 season. Richardson rushed 7 times for 13 yards in 2007 (1.9 YPC). He also caught 11 passes for 81 yards for the Minnesota Vikings

Jesse Chatman 5'8 223 enters his 5th season in the NFL. After missing both the 2005 and 2006 seasons, Chatman revived his career playing for the Miami Dolphins, rushing for 515 yards on 128 carries (4.0 YPC) with 1 touchdown. Chatman added 27 catches for 161 yards. Chatman was signed as a free agent before the 2008 season.

Musa Smith 6'0 232 enters his 6th season as a pro. Last season, Smith ran for 264 yards on 75 carries (3.5 YPC) with the Baltimore Ravens. Acquired early during the 2008 training camp, Smith also added 27 catches for 192 yards.

Jehuu Caulcrick 6'0 255 is a rookie in 2008, as the Jets signed Calcrick following the 2008 NFL draft. A hybrid RB/FB, Calcrick rushed for 872 yards on 222 carries (3.9 YPC) with 21 touchdowns for Michigan State in 2007.

Rodney Kinlaw 5'9 201 also enters his first NFL season in 2008. An undrafted free agent out of Penn State, Kinlaw did not sign with the Jets until early in training camp. Kinlaw rushed for 1,329 yards on 243 attempts (5.5 YPC) with 10 touchdowns for the 2008 Nittany Lions.

Please remember, you should vote first for the number of players at the position, and also for which players. Choose the number for part 2 that was equivalent to your part one vote
Voting will end Tuesday night/Wednesday morning at midnight

Okay this one works. And voting here, in case you didn't pick up on it, includes both RB and FB

    Jones
    Washington
    Chatman

    Richardson
    Caulcrick

Richardson is not going to be around long and Caulcrick is a frigging beast, I think he's going to be taking over at FB. Jones and Leon are definitely staying, and I don't see how we can let go Chatman, the guy is tough as a pit bull.

    4 RBs

Someone on the PS incase one goes down. Smith would be picked up on the PS, but I can't see him over TJ,LW, Richardson, and Chatman. Chatman runs too well and gives up less than the other 4.

Only 1st and 2nd year guys are eligible for the PS.

Caulcrick ends up there I think.

Looks like this one is going the way of the QBs. I agree with the consensus, but having watched Caulcrick at MSU he's not a great blocker.
This is from the NFL's combine analysis:
Give him a year on the PS, and tell him DO NOTHING BUT WORK ON BLOCKING. He's an incredibly smart kid, a good kid, and I'd love to see him succeed. But he's not ready to yet.

I'm detecting a bit of leading the witness in the list of names.

Perhaps listing them alphabetically or by years in the NFL would unbias the polls a bit?

I hope Chatman can play against first teams like he has against 2nd and 3rds.

Okay, from now on I'll do it alphabetically. Although I really do doubt that makes a difference considering how knowledgeable posters usually are around here.

I honestly went with what I assumed the depth chart would be, but from now on I'll list alphabetically
