OK, Im all for going out and getting some players that will make this team better, but do you think the Jets are trying to break the bank on FAs? I think if they sign Moss after all these signings, the FO is getting reckless and desperate. I like the idea of Moss in Green and White, but not now with all the other positions we need to fix, and with all the money we have already invested in the last 24 hours...

Speculation, as they put it, at it's best. I don't think it has much chance of happening.

he is going to test the market to see what his value is and then return to the pats to negotiate a deal.

It would be nice to tell Laverernius to go scratch instead of him holding us ransom again.

here's what the jets conversation will go like
Tannenbaum: "so how much do u think it would cost to sign randy?"
Moss' Agent: "10 million a year"
Tannenbaum: "ok, the taxi is waiting outside, good luck with wherever randy goes as long as it's not the patriots.

Well for the best guard in the game we dished out 8 mill per, how about we give Moss a 4 year 38 million dollar deal with like a 14 mill signing bonus? reel him in please. Of course, honestly that is the most expensive FA period we have ever had, and we are only a few days in... Do I really expect us to sign moss? not a chance, I just think it would be quite nice.

i think we smell patriot blood. the beast is wounded, it's time to go in for the kill. i think signing moss would be over the top, but at least the FO is showing us thier serious about winning. look at the players the dull phins are signing. i think they trade the 1st pick, and come away with even more players. we are quickly becoming a contenter. the pats are crumbling! i don't think we should sign moss, but i won't cry if we do. if i were mikey t, i'd see if i could work out a deal for d-rob and chad johnson.the time is now!!!

Personally, I think it would be a good move to at least make like they want him and drive up his price. Ideally, that makes Moss unaffordable to the Pats and makes him go elsewhere (like, say, Green Bay). It would be interesting to see a Pennington-Moss connection again, but I don't think we need him at that price. The key here is to drive up the price of a player NE wants. That's just good strategy.

    Moss-to-the-Jets???

    HELL YEAH!!!

Ok..back to reality a minute. I love Randy Moss, I don't want him to come here. Randy seems like a guy who plays with his emotions on his sleeve. When things are good, he plays hard and he's productive. He also tries his best to stay out of the newspapaer.le. When things are bad..he pouts and just does and says stupid things. That may play in small markets like Oakland and Minneapolis, but in New York, it's a national story. He'll get destroyed in the Big Apple, if he's seen laying back on the bench. looking disinterested. It's one thing to catch passes from Tom Brady, who can get it to him anytime wants, while it's another to get passes from young Kellen Clemens. One bad throw from Clemens or even Pennington (who would definitely frustrate him because he can't throw it deep the way he likes) and mentally the team would lose him.

I never saw Moss as a cancer, as he is portrayed in the media. He wants to win BADLY, and he's not afraid to be honest about how he feels.

If he doesn't resign with New England, I think he'll head to Denver. He's the kind of big ticket item that Shanahan drools over.

By the way, I just don't see Javon Walker to Dallas. First of all, not only do they TO and Terry Glenn, but Patrick Crayton is an emerging receiver. If I remember correctly, when Walker was in Green Bay, he openly complained about being in Brett
Favre's shadow. I doubt he'd want to play where he's be upstaged again. If I were Buffalo, I'd look at him. He would fit in nicely on the other side of Lee Evans.

It would be great to have a monster reciever like moss, but I still think Charater issues will spoiler his tenure as a Jet. We know what kind of player he is and we know that he requires a Quarter Back that can send the ball down feild. I dont think Penny will deliver the goods so to speak for Moss.

At the very least, they should show a great deal of interest, if for nothing else to make the Pats have to really pony up to bring him back.

Yeah, I see two motivations behind this speculation.

    1) More suitors for Moss means whoever does finally pay him will have to pay him significantly more. If it's the iggles, great. If its the Pats, bye bye cap room, massholes.

    2) Our front office has demonstrated that one of its top priorities is to be a royal pain in the ass for the Pats front office. Branch, Spygate, now this- I love it.

I just hope that Moss goes somewhere else, outside the AFC east, and continues the demise of the evil empire.

I would love Moss, but honestly I think we are just in this to drive up the price for whoever wants him. If we get him, you wont see me shedding any tears, either of sadness or joy, but Moss would at worst, be a great addition to our not so deep recieving corps.

    From The Jets Stream:
"GM Mike Tannenbaum was vague tonight when asked about possible interest in Patriots WR Randy Moss. Sorry to disappoint, Jets fans, but the Jets are not interested."
