Here are some AFC teams I can't see us beating should we make the playoffs: Pittsburgh Steelers : If we couldn't beat them without their key personnel in the game how are we gonna beat them at full strength in a playoff game? Denver Broncos: Denver beat the Steelers last week WITH Polamalu in the game. No chance the Jets beat the team that beat the team that we just lost to... Houston Texans: They just look too heavy for the lightweight Jets right now, way too heavy. Baltimore Ravens: Just forget it... If a weakened Steelers team could do that to us yesterday the Baltimore Ravens would have Mark Sanchez in the emergency room by the end of the 1st quarter. No chance this team could ever beat the Baltimore Ravens under any circumstances. San Diego Chargers: NO... just, NO! New England Patriots: I can't see it. I can't see this team being able to keep up with Brady at all. Even though the Pats lost on a shank FG yesterday, this team can't beat them should they face them in the playoffs. The above teams are the most likely ones we'll see in the playoffs should we make it, and there is no way we can beat any of them. It's Week 2, and unless something changes dramatically with this team we might well already be playing out the string. Yesterday was a huge test for this team, and they fell flat on their faces. But don't worry, they're all millionaires, they still took their showers after the game, put their business suits back on, and went home and beat the Steelers on Playstation... All is not lost.
We can't beat the Chargers? Are you kidding me? Force Rivers into making mistakes and they fold up like a tent. Always happens. And the Ravens lost to a mediocre Eagles team that has won its games by a single point each. And we can absolutely beat New England.
Its week 2 man, chill out. We were down our best defender, possibly our best run stuff OLB, and Sanchez's favorite fall back reciever and your concerned about a 10-27 loss in week 2 away to a team that hasnt lost a home opener in 9 years? I mean lets be real the game was within reach till the last 7 min. I'm not to concerned about any team right now...all we need to do is beat the phins this week.
:breakdance: Any given Sunday man. The Giants were never supposed to win against the 18-0 Pats. The Cardinals were never supposed to make the Super Bowl. The Broncos weren't supposed to beat the Steelers. You don't need to be the better team overall in the playoffs, you just have to be better that day. Hence the term Any Given Sunday (Monday, Thursday). That's why most Jets fans just want to find a way into the playoffs WC or Division. Because once in the playoffs, anything can happen. Look at the Giants vs Packers last year. Giants went 9-7 and Packers went 15-1. Giants beat the Packers in Green Bay. Packers were the better team all regular season, the Giants were the better team in the playoffs.
The Steelers were clearly the better team yesterday. That doesn't mean they, or anyone else will be at the end of the season.
Learn to think positively and have some faith. I'm not talking about just the Jets but life in general. It will improve your quality of life like you wouldn't believe. It's week two and we played one bad half. Relax, and let it play itself out.
What does saying we can't beat those teams in the playoffs accomplish? Does it mean the Jets should just pack it in right now? Close shop because we can't beat them teams in the playoffs. Why should we whine about this now or even think about it. Let's go beat Miami next week.
I think it's a little early to be worrying about who the Jets can and can't beat in the playoffs. Jesus, I know the loss was bad but this board has litearlly turned into feast or famine. Either we're going to hoist the Lombardi or have the top pick in the draft. I get that sometimes that's the nature of football fans but for Christ sake...
It's exactly the way this board gets after a loss, and has been since I have been posting here. I see people preach 'one game at a time' here a lot, but most people don't get the concept.
Great analysis....especially on the Chargers. Do you even know anything about those teams or have any way of legitimately comparing the strengths and weaknesses of the Jets to the strengths and weaknesses of those teams, or are you just talking out your ass?
You're an idiot. Thanks for the crybaby post. Jets can beat the Chargers. The Broncos beat the Steelers in Pitt. The Eagles who should have lost to the Browns just beat the Ravens. The Patriots just lost to the Cardinals in foxboro. Anything can happen any given sunday. I bet everyone thought it was impossible to beat the Pats in the playoffs in foxboro but that happened. I forgot how retarded people get after a loss.
This post is a huge overreaction. It's week 2. They might not be as good as they played against Buffalo but their not as bad as they played against Pittsburgh either.
some people really shouldnt be allowed to create threads after a loss "it's week 2 and unless there are major changes" LMAO get a grip and take your meds.
In week 2. The NFL now will be completely different by playoff time. In 09 Jets got swept by Miami who didn't make the playoffs and went on to beat the Bengals and Chargers in the playoffs. The 14-2 Chargers. You're never as good as you look after a big win and never as bad as you look after a loss. Jets and Bills just flip flopped these last 2 weeks. The way the Bills looked week 1 did everyone think they'd go 0-16
