This is what we call, CUT TO THE CHASE time  The time for shuckin and jivin is over ... it's time to take the survival test Just like three or so of these TOP DOZEN PROSPECTS are virtually assured to bust wide open in the NFL, three or so are virtually assured to become elite players in the NFL barring injuries, though probably not more than three, and maybe less ... historical trends would indicate both are true SO DO THIS You have to pick one prospect, Reggie Bush excluded, who will be a consensus GREAT PLAYER in the NFL barring injuries ... someone who owns a time machine assures you there is one, only one, other than Reggie Bush, who will be a Great Player, but you have to pick that one player, LIFE ON THE LINE ... no, make that the lives of your loved ones on the line as well ... which one are you picking, and tell me the truth? AND YOU CAN ONLY PICK ONE!! Remember, you are not picking for the Jets ... you are just picking out that one player, other than Bush, who will achieve Greatness at his respective position, and you've been assured there is one ... now not only is your own life on the line, but the lives of your loved ones as well ... which one are you picking, and tell me the truth? PS. If you Get it right, not only do you spare your own life and the lives of your loved ones, but you also Get a million dollars cash, tax free ===== You know who I'm pickin, life on the line, and the lives of my loved ones as well? TE Vernon "Duke" Davis And where do I collect that million?
Mario Williams - he is a freak of nature and should be an all pro for a long time. He should be the second coming of LT. (do you have issues with people lying to you or something)?
AJ Hawk. If Super Mario comes to a team like the Jets his productivity will be slightly lower... while Hawk is going to excel wherever he goes. If you watched him last season he's got a natural nose for the football and was either making his own tackle or assisting another. All around great football player who is better then the last great LB prospect, Lavar Arrington, and it won't take Hawk long to be an all-pro player. When he runs a 4.38 40 as a LB yet his greatest asset is how he's played on the field, not his workouts, you know that he's excellent. Edit: He also already completely owns one future NFL QB as he's banging Brady Quinn's sister.
No, I Just don't want folks to allow any biases to cloud their thinking, or consider the Jets when they are making this call ... I want it to be strictly based on survival, and nothing else
I agree with Donnie, Hawk. I thought about Huff for a while because I think he'll be very good, but I can't call him a sure thing because there are doubts about his position and whether he can excel at either safety or corner.
if i were to pick one guy to achieve greatness it would be marcus vick.. no jk i were to pick one guy to achrive greatness at his indiviual position it will be D-Brickishaw Ferguson. granted mario williams is great but you control the game clock with d-brick. for d-brickishaw it will be his position. vernon davis, leinart, young, and williams will all be great players but none will dominate there own position. like ferguson
I like QB Omar Jacobs- Very accurate passer, good mobility, good decisiion maker.. Would have been 1st round pick if he didn't seperate his shoulder this past season. At the combine his arm looks more the capable of all the throws
This is a tough call and you really want to stay away from lineman because you can't predict how they will do against nfl lineman. The most sure picks are running backs. I wouldn't touch a qb because that's just so risky. Other then Bush, I don't think there is a running back in the draft who is a sure thing. But I know Bush isn't an option for this...I don't know.
well i personally like Rb Brian Calhoun to be a dominant Rb, kind of like Curtis Martin was, a third rounder who became a starter for his team early on, and then went on to be the master of consistency over his career.
Vernon Davis will be the man in the Pros. Even if he winds up on SF's dismal offense he'll wind up going to the pro bowl within the 1st 3 yrs.
AJ Hawk Has progressed throughout college and has been very dominant in his final season, no question marks, no character issues, great athlete, will be one of the dominant NFL linebackers for year to come, in 2 seasons Hawk, Vilma, and Johnson from KC will rule the linebackers of the NFL
I'd say Hawk is the safest, but I just never feel that OLBs can be DOMINANT. So I'll say Vernon, too. He just seems focused AND a freak of nature.
