Just taken off the field in an ambulance, the senior RB from Louisville.

If this means he's out the year, it could seriously hurt his chances of being a 1st or 2nd round pick like projected...maybe one of our 2nd round choices next year, if we keep both?

wow, i feel so bad for him. He just went from being a Heisman Candidate/top-10 pick to being a second/mid round pick.

That is, unless some team does what the Bills did with McGahee and take a huge risk

while its terrible, I still think he will be a first rounder. Remember McGahee's terrible injury back in the Fiesta Bowl a while back? Well, that was three months before the draft, and he was still a first round pick. I think Bush will be able to come back and at least still be a 2nd rounder, but probably still a first.

He'll be taking this year as a medical redshirt and returning to Louisville next season. This isn't based on anything I've heard (at least not definitively), but it's almost a given in my mind.

Yea, I agree. I just heard on the broadcast that he still has his redshirt year, so I think he'll definately be coming back next year.

  11. Thats def. a tough pill to swallow as a football fan. Great player who was destined for great things in the NFL. Lets hope he can bounce back

I gotta say, I do feel bad for saying questioning his status as a prospect just an hour ago before I heard about the injury, but I remain solid on it. This might be a blessing in disguise for him though, with the number of senior and likely UC backs that are going to be in the 07 draft, he might find easier sledding in 08. Though, how interesting would it be if Brohm left early, and Petrino decided to stick Bush at QB for the season; it might be the best chance Louisville has at winning the conference title next year.

you feel Brohm will stay now just cuz of this. They would both leave together.....and both stay together.

That's awful, he was having such a great first game with 3 TDs and him and Brohm could've one the Big East and a major bowl game together. That confrence is now pretty wide open too.

Why would Bush play QB? Did he use to play there or something?

He was an All American caliber QB in High School, had a heated battle with Brohm to see who would be the QB of the future after Stefan LeFors left. Brohm won, but I think a lot of that was the fact that Petrino knew Bush could be so valuable in another position, turns out he was right.

I think Brohm will declare if he's comfortable with his place in the draft, and if he keeps UL together this season, he probably won't be able to improve his stock much more than it already is. Though, if he does come back, then the 07 Cardinals will have a phenomenal offense, with he, Bush, and WRs Urrutia and Carter all seniors.

He was a QB in high school (and I think his first year at Lousiville too, but I'm not positive)
