That is true. Best Super Bowl analysis I have seen thus far. Brady can't win, which means we all win.
Panthers are going to stomp the Broncos and Cam will dab his way to the SBMVP. Broncos barely hung 20 on an overrated Patriots defense, would hate to see them play a far superior opponent in the Panthers.
Everyone is saying Carolina is going to stomp on the Broncos. Everyone said New England would steam roll Denver. I don't really care who wins to be honest. I just want it to be an exciting game.
Storybook ending would be the Peyton winning it But reality says the Panthers are going to get to Manning and they will do a greater job of protecting Cam.
If the Broncos are penalized for PI or defensive holding on the first series I think they get blown out. If the refs let them play my prediction is 24-18 Broncos. If this is the last time I watch Manning play I hope he gets a ring.
Would be fun to see Peyton ride off into the sunset (on his defense's back) with a ring, but unless they can drag Cam down to Manning's anemic level to hold it close, this has Panthers blowout written all over it.
The Panthers (Current Roster) have never experienced success like this though. I wonder if the big lights of the Super Bowl stage will get to them? The Broncos were just there 2 years ago. It is a neutral field in San Francisco too. Likely more Broncos fans. I think it will actually be a good game.
This is an interesting matchup. On the one hand, the NFL has to be thrilled that Peyton in his maybe final season gets a chance to ride off into the sunset with a SB. On the other hand, when was the last time an offense that was as anemic as the Broncos made the SB? They're not aesthetically pleasing, and their struggling offense creates a higher than usual potential for a blowout result. No secret that I think the Panthers win this, only question is by how much.
That's just the thing right there. The Super Bowl itself is a circus. And yes I'd say definitely more Broncos fans. I could walk to the stadium in less than 10 minutes from my house, and locally there are Broncos fans everywhere around here. I'd say the Bay Area football order of popularity goes like this: 49ers Raiders Cowboys Broncos Most hated: Seahawks Patriots
I don't buy the experience angle. I'd rather have no SB experience than the experience of a 43-8 massacre. And if Denver were truly going to draw upon the SB embarrassment and try to avenge it, they surely would not have lost horrendously at home to the Colts the following season. I just don't see any real advantage for Denver having been there 2 years ago. And really, Carolina's most important player, Cam, is used to the bright lights. He played in the college championship game and won. He is used to this type of stage.
As much as I think the Panthers will win, I'm rooting hard for the Broncos. Everyone was predicting an easy Brady win this weekend, but that Broncos defense is special. Peyton deserves a 2nd ring, it still annoys me that his little brother with half the skill has 2. Newton can wait, and I think his celebrations will bite him in the ass during this game. It will be the toughest D they face all year, so likely it will be a one score game, and I'd enjoy that very much. Carolina D is no joke either, so it should be interesting.
Broncos offense is bad. TD in his Prime and Elway are not walking through that door. I don't see this game being competitive, unless the Broncos defense generates turnovers. It'll be another Broncos team being blown out in the SB. Surely that will make some sort of history.
People do realize the Patriots were the defending Super Bowl Champs with a high powered offense and almost everyone picked them to blow out the Broncos. The Broncos won. Now people are completely throwing that out the window and saying the same thing about the Panthers.
Who wants to predict that a horse will be somewhere in the back of the stadium and brought in to have the "The Sherriff" ride off into retirement after a Super Bowl victory... Sounds so cliche, yet something Goodell and the NFL'ers could do.
