Mods, I'm calling for you to put this board on Suicide Watch this morning: Face It - WE HAVE THE WORST COACH IN THE LEAGUE! Season Ticket Holders Should Be Ashamed of Themselves "This Clemens Guy Sucks." - My Dad Mangini = jerk off 24 1/2 point spread
 You know what bro? Maybe we should allow people to put themselves out of their misery. It's obvious this team isn't going to make us feel any better.
We are rebuilding! If you can't take the bumps in the road over the next few years then find another team or sport to follow.
Funny how the guy that made this thread and some other Jet fans are already calling for the head of Mangini and calling him the worst NFL coach... If owners of teams were like some of these fans, The Patriots would never have BB as the coach... Go look at his record in Cleveland. Its his freaking 2nd year as a coach... Give the man a break.
2004 10-6 Playoffs, with a first round win and an OT loss. 2005 4-12 with out a QB and half the line injured 2006 10-6 Playoffs 2007 3-?? Would not call this rebuilding but rather going in the wrong direction. The team does not do one thing well. We can't run the ball, we can't pass the ball, we can't stop the run, and we can't stop the pass. This is not rebuilding. The Vikings are rebuilding, the Jets and Chiefs are spiraling downward with no light at the end of the tunnel. It will be 3 years before we are competitive again and probably 5 before we find the playoffs.
Agreed. I think Mangini will be fine. We have to give this thing time to gain momentum. A lot of people on this board were predicting a fall-back year this year to 8-8 or 6-10 or there abouts. It is just that this year was more of a reality crash then a fall-off. I think it has come at the perfect time. Next year is the year I begin to really judge, and it starts after the SB is over this year. Though, Mangini could release some of the coaching staff in January. I do not thhink this will be quite as severe a purging as people would like. Where I will really judge our CS and FO is our FA involvement. With the deficiencies we have; to keep our hands in our pockets during FA would be highly disturbing.
I do wish to make one more very good point. Even though we are probably looking at a 3 or 4 win season, Mangini has not lost this team. While in 2005 under Herm, the team was clearly lost by just after mid-season. It was clear that everyone on the team had enough of Herm.
We competed didn't we and made it to the playoffs. That is much better than the one this year. So you are telling me that our talent went to crap in one offseason or other coaches figured out the crappy play calling of Sutton and Shotty. I think Mangini is going to be decent, but the coordinators are crap. This debacle is not on the players it is on the coaches. The talent gap is not that great in the NFL. Do you think the Chargers were a good team last year, how about this year. Is it because of the players or coaching?
The Chargers are a good team this year and last. Norv Turner is the worst. I think the Jets played way over their heads last year and don't have talent. We need to basically overhaul our whole team. The Chargers have the talent to go all the way if they get it together.
This is exactly my point. If we played over our heads last year, then we should be 8-8, 6-10 this year, not 3-13 which is where I think we are heading. That is on the coaching. Another thing, team looks halfway decent in the 1st half, but is terrible in the second half. That is coaching. Our coordinators cannot make adjustments. See TJ at 8 yards deep, still a run after how many weeks. Bring in a veteran DC and OC and see where we are next year. If not, we will still suck.
Couldn't agree more. This off-season is huge for this regime IMO. I'll with hold my judgment til then
