    Studs

Copeland - had a strong game at OLB, in the 2nd drive of the game had a big TFL , a sack, and almost a safety.

3rd down Defense - held them to 0 3rd down conversions in the 1st 3 quarters and 13% converted overall

Claiborne - shut down diggs in man coverage all game pretty much. even tipped the 1 TD he let up

Roberts - vikes tried to pick on him and he held up very well for being overmatched

Herndon - 4 catches for 42 yards and a TD and was inches away from a 2nd TD which darnold ran a QB sneak the next play. not sure why we moved away from him

cannon - wound up being the leading WR on the game with 69 yards. he had the long35 yarder early then we didn't use him much despite powell going down

    adams - 9 tackles 3 for a loss

    Duds

Bowles - jets were just sloppy all game long. they didn't look prepared or ready for this game. 5 fumbles and 3 INTs you can't win in the NFL if you can't keep the ball.

WRs - a huge let down. robbie could have had a big game if darnold played better he was open fora couple of big TDs darnold missed him on but the rest are making the duds list

    Kearse - 0 catches

Deontay - drops an easy catch right in his chest

peake - dropped an easy catch that was picked off

Roberts - useless as a WR and has a returner muffed one and fumbled out of bounds on another

run game - crowell had 0 room due to blocking and couldn't break a tackle either all game long

Darnold - not that it was all his fault. drops hurt him. he was credited with 4 turnovers but 1 was on peake and one was on long. either way though he missed a lot of throws he normally doens't and didn't look comfortable or in command of the offense. sailed a lot of balls high and couldn't move the offense the 1st half at all really

Bates - piss poor playcalling. I know we were down WRs but use the TEs and RBs creatively. herndon and cannon should have been more involved

Special teams - outside of myers, the rest were awful. a bad snap on a punt from out endzone resulted in a shank, muffed punt, fumble on a return, just overall a bad day for our special teams

Long - more bad snaps and a holding penalty

Bowles does not belong in Duds. There's an entire thread about that. To put this much blame on him is ridiculous.

A coach coaches and players execute. There was ZERO execution yesterday. And to blame Bowles for interceptions and fumbles is absurd.

if you credit the 4 drops as completions and take the peake interception he still had an awful game:

    21-42 (50%) 206 yards 1 touchdown 2 interceptions

his gameplan was solid for sure on defense but the offense was a mess. he has to shoulder some of the blame for that and for the sloppy play

hence why he was a dud, i was just saying it wans't all his fault

Can't disagree with your assessments. They're all spot on. I'm liking Herndon more and more as a weapon for Darnold.

You have to put Jason mayers as a stud his powerful leg cut right through that wind. Dan bailey kicks were blowing all over the place. Think we got a good kicker for awhile

    thanks!

thought about it but he didn't get many opportunities to kick FGs and be a stud but he did do his job for sure. has been on of the better kickers in the NFL. right now he's 2nd in the NFL in FG % (minimum 10 attempts) to mcmanus who is 11 for 11. and he's 1st in Fgs made with 17.

I actually went back and rewatched the game last night and really claiborne and roberts were studs and it can't be overstated how well both played. nickerson had a rough go of it and brooks did great filling in for middleton and could have been a stud as well

I agree. I'd love to see someone write "The team was unprepared and won". Teams that fail to execute usually lose.

    Duds:

    The whole team except Herndon.

The announcers. That was the closest I've been to muting a Jets game in a while. One guy talked in almost exclusively small fragmented catch phrases. The convoluted way he described Darnold's first rushing TD made me puke.
