#Jets have released oft-injured CB Donald Strickland

Too bad I liked the things he did on the field when he wasn't hurt :(

Strickland was awesome when he wasn't injured...but it is probably the right thing to do.

He was great when he wasn't hurt, but far too often he was hurt. That's why he's looking for his fifth team.

He could still be brought back. His injuries were a pain in the ass though.

If he doesn't return, we're not done on the CB front. I refuse to believe Drew Coleman is our #4.

I think we should resign him, he can't ask for too much money after that injury riddled season, and hes better than lowrey when not hurt. worth the risk.

He wasn't cut for money, he was cut specifically for his injury problems. We should be looking elsewhere which is why I am still not opposed to getting another CB in the draft, all be it in the later rounds.

Yeah, this wasn't a money-issue. He wasn't paid very much to begin with. I'd like to see him return but it's probably not going to happen.

Im all for a cb in the draft, but I dont want to see lowrey or another rookie (or hopefully not drew coleman) getting picked on in a big game while revis and cro are shutting down their men. i realize that he is injury prone and a risk to never see the field, but thats why i was saying he cant ask for too much and would be worth a low risk high reward type investment.

Lowery is good for a Nickel back. The only danger at that position for him is Welker but the Jets are likely to put Revis or Cro on him anyway. We have to add some youth to the backfield anyway, having the rookie and Lowery battle it out for the nickel spot is not a bad thing.

I'm still hoping Lowery has a really good off season workout. I can still see the Pats giving us fits with Moss, Welker, and Edelmann on the field in 3WR sets. Edelmann is not Welker but he's still a pretty shifty guy. I don't think FS & a nickle can cover him. We need a 3rd CB who can handle it.

Not to mention depth in case of injury.

Strickland was good when healthy I thought the Jets would be better off keeping him and still drafting a top rated CB. Oh well...

I can still see the Jets targeting McCourty if he can fall to the 2nd round. Let him play nickel and have a backup in case the Cromartie trade does not work out.

Its now Official TJ is Gone, so is Strickland

Sorry for yet another TJ thread, but I feel really upset about seeing this, I REALLY do hope that we get him back in and this is just loophole wangling by Tanny.

Strickland released as well ? Surely he'll be resigned?

Not sure why, if we couldn't restructure TJ's contract before he was released, he'd be willing to take less from the Jets now that he's a FA.
I hope i'm wrong but i don't see him coming back.
