so with the new shuffling of the parking spots,i am sorta conflicted with what to do.i will be attending both preseason games but do i really want to show up 5 hours early on an Aug monday night????a saturday night sure but i would have to take a day off or a half day to tailgate for a preseason game.
then twice during the season i have to take days off(which i most certainly am)for the ravens and vikings games.
    so will you be....
1.attending the Jets vs Giants game early and claiming your tailgating spot?
2.attending the preseason games but not stressing the tailgating spot till the regular season
3.skipping the preseason all together and will just get your spot when the season starts on that monday night.

I filled out the poll but also have an unrelated tailgating strategy question. Due to the large group of people who have either lost their tickets or their method of income prior to this season many people in our crew were planning to watch the Ravens game from the parking lot.

We were going to go all out and "borrow" a projector from work and get it projecting onto the side of the RV to create optimal viewing for the group. The issue I just realized recently is MNF....It's on ESPN. That means no over-the-air broadcast. So we can't just use our TV tuner to get the broadcast.

I can't come up with a way to be able to see the game now from the parking lot besides somehow setting up a satelitte dish, which is a huge PITA. Anyone have any other ideas? We will have a laptop, but don't want to rely on a stream for quality purposes.

I wasn't planning to do the preseason games but figured we need to figure out the tailgating situation. Kinda need to know where to head for the Monday night game.

Most of the recon has already been done. The pics have been analyzed, the strategies have been discussed, the lot has been visited. All that's left is for the regular season to begin.

Are the Jets enforcing the PSL parking situation for the preseason games? In the past you were allowed to park even if you didn't have a parking pass for preseason.

As for claiming a spot, it's gonna be hard at the get go since so many have been displaced and the lot layout has changed. I feel as if first come, first serve is going to be the prevailing format. After a few weeks in, folks will get used to seeing the same cast of characters around them.

We need PARKING LOT ANARCHY and we need it NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Take NO PRISONERS!!!!

On Sept 13, if the Parking Lot Ushers don't let you park where you park, just drive away and claim whatever spot you want!!!!!!!!! If everyone does it, what can they do, arrest 82,500 people and tow all their cars!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL!!!! I am delerious!!!!!!

COME ON PEOPLE! This is no way to act. People need to have a cool head and relax a little. I can see setting fires to vehicles displaying green or yellow stickers... maybe tying up Woody Johnson and dragging him around the parking lot off the back bumper of my SUV for awhile.

But nothing as drastic as you advocate. That kind of behavior is uncalled for.

I'm kind of biased, but I am there 5 hours prior to every game, Preseason or Regular Season. Now with the new parking lots, I'm definitely going to be there at 2/3pm for the game on August 16th, and I suggest you do the same for both the Giants and Redskins games so you have a premier spot locked down for Baltimore. Which is exaclty what I'll be doing in L. My buddy and I are looking to get a spot by a curbed area for the grill.

Every spot in the parking lot is fair game now that its a new stadium/new parking situation. Nobody there screaming "I had this spot for 20 years!" because now it is numbered/lettered differently so they can eat a bag of dicks!

Can someone explain this "locking down" of spots thing to me? Is it not first come, first served?

It is is but once in a while you will find someone who will flip a shit if you "park in their spot". Not anymore in the new house... but you can find a spot that you enjoy and if you're there when the gates open, most likely nobody is going to take it from you.

Never had that happen, so I guess I never parked in anyone's spot. Wouldn't move anyway, especially if all my gear was unpacked...

Most people wouldn't, but still its just annoying to deal with. Thankfully for Year 1 nobody has to.

It's always been "squatters' rights." Whoever gets there the earliest and sets up owns it for that day. And if you're not early again next week and somebody else sets up in "your spot," you're basically SOL. Sometimes there is an understanding among guys at remote locations where you're pretty far away from the stadium, but if you want to tailgate close, no one is going to not take a spot just because somebody else MAY show up later.

I've rarely set up in the exact same spot in all these years. Always the same area, but every game is different. Some games the lot is wide open at 10am. Other days you have to hunt like hell for a spot at 9am.

locking down a spot is just geting there first and knowing where you want to park every week.
    every spot is free game.
    early rise, no surprise.

also my group has no disappeared so less to people to claim a good curb

We once had an old timer after 6 regular season games tell us we were in his spot. First we asked him where he was all season then we told go go fuck off.

This was after the new stadium was beginning consrtuction and we were displaced from our old spot.

Later we had the security guys put cones or vehicles in our spot. They were allowed to eat for free later in the day. Pretty good deal. But we never were late anyway.

Ditto. I enjoy creating these scenarios in my mind, it's the only thing that keeps me sane when I look at the orange lot locations.

I don't think we have a chance of this changing until all the PSLs are sold. Until then, it's fuck the Upper Deck guys because you can and because you need to in order to coerce them into buying a PSL.

After that is accomplished, then it's back to fucking the PSL people whose money is already in the house and accomodating the Upper Deckers, who will be defecting in droves after the 2010 season because of inconvenient parking (especially the Pepsi Corner). But you'll keep them if you give them Lot K, for example, so I suspect that's going to happen, but only after all the PSL checks clear.

Snakes... that's what we're dealing with. Think like a snake and you've got a handle on what the parking plan will look like in the future.
