Guys, everyone has to simply relax about the pre-season and the issues.

On the offensive line, Pete Kendall was out for 2 games in 2006, Pats and Bills. The Jets were 1 and 1. Chad got sacked once in the Buffalo game with the same offensive line he will start this year with...once.

They ran for 52 and 74 yards respectively, which is not good...but that was Barlow, who's longest run all year was 10 yards with or without Pete K.

As for Chad, from today's Bergen Record..

"In the Jets' 13-7 loss to the Giants a year ago: 11-for-20, 125 yards, one interception, no touchdowns. Pennington didn't direct the Jets to a score.

After sitting out the preseason finale against Philadelphia, all Pennington did two weeks later in the season opener was go 24-for-33 for 319 yards and two touchdowns with no picks in a 23-16 win at Tennessee.".

This level of anxiety is insanity.

I agree completely. A 2 years ago Daunte Culpepper went like 13-13 vs the Jets in preseason so I drafted him crazy early in a fantasy draft and that was the year he ended up throwing about 20 interceptions in 2 games.

    Preseason means NOTHING AT ALL.

You didn't get the memo? The season is over. The OL and DL are horrible. Our WR's are mediocre at best. Our QB has the arm strength of a 6-yr old. Our schedule is brutal. But hey, our Kicker and punter are SICK!

Thanks, JetFanRI. Maybe there IS hope after all.

Too early to panic .. yes! We will have a veteran LG as soon as Weds. Tannebaum and Mangini are not stupid. They can trade for a guard maybe Woody from the Lions. They are not going to let the QB get mauled. Thomas Jones will be ready and the offense and defense will go from vanilla to dark rich chocolate. This team has leaders on the field and off the field. They are tough and playoff tested. Wait till opening day. Can't wait to see Revis against the Pats.

    im a little worried/confused

we have more talent than we have had in a while, but almost none of it is in the trenches (i put mangold above avg, eliis average/above average depending on how hard he tries)

i do think eric is smart though, if i didnt have faith in the HC, id be really worried

does anyone remember how terrible tenn was early in the season last year? we are not that fortunate this year with the likes of the pats and ravens to start off this year with. we basically have two loses to start the season off with, which leaves very little room for error there after. unless you think we're going to win one of those games. i certainly wouldn't bet any large sum on it.

As Jets fans, I thought it was in our blood to panic 24/7.

The Pats may well be without their two starting DE in the first game and the Ravens are playing with a very good D and a completly washed up QB. We should be able to hang around in both games particularly if the Pats get off to their traditionally slow start.

The Jets haven't shown much this summer. Perhaps it's intentional.
Perhaps we will all be surprised on September 9th. The fans, the media, and most importantly, the Pats.

This is only pre-season and I will still wear my Jet Green Jersey ( 10,28,80 ) no matter what. I did when they were 1-15 and I will continue to wear them when ever they play. I here for the long haul, just me and my JETS tat on my arm.

The feeling of late for me has reminded me of a Willy Wonka quote which I will now paraphrase:

Three [preseason games] down, one to go and [the Patriots] are moving closer and closer to the most sought after prize in history. Though we cannot help but envy [the Patriots], and we may feel bitter, but we must remember there are more important things, many more important things. Though offhand I cannot think of what they are but I'm sure there must be something.

Its not about being a real fan. Most of us are. That's why we post. Its about how horrible our team looked. I normally don't care about pre-season wins, but geez, the 1st team has not looked good the entire pre-season and Chad's arm looks know better then last year. Panicking is going overboard, but I am concerned about the O line, pass rush and run defense. How could you not be?
