We Dont necessarily have to draft D'brick, there are some options in free agency, im not a lion-follower, but wasnt Jeff backus a pretty damn good Tackle, http://proxy.espn.go.com/nfl/fa?positionId=46, He is the second name, keep scrolling down, Wasnt Eprhaim Salaam pretty good for jacksonville, there are 3 to 4 good players we should take at that position

At TE teyo Johnson, is availabe, hes a good ball-player, from Stanford, and Casey Fitzsimmons, former Lion TE.

At CB Jerry Azumah is available i think, and Charles Woodson.

At RB, i've already expressed that i want Travis Henry.

At WR, Troy Edwards is available, Reggie Swinton also

SO in conclusion, not everything falls down to the draft, and im not saying sign all these guys but, we have some options, I think we should pounce on some of these players...THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME

I think Jerry Azumah retired because of injury.

I believe Backus was/is a restricted free agent, thus we would have to compensate Detroit if we signed the guy.

Teyo Johnson may be a guy worth taking a look. However, he is a converted wide eceiver that quickly fell out of favor in Oakland. Now, he can't even find a team. There is something wrong there.

Azumah retired and Woodson has priced himself out of the market.

Travis Henry is one Ricky Williams strike away from a year long suspension in the league substance abuse program.

I don't see Edwards or Swinton as being upgrades over what we have at wide receiver.

    Code:
    Troy Edwards
    2005	DET	3 2 15 7.5 8 0 1 0 0

    Reggie Swinton
    2004	DET	13 18 213 11.8 28 1 11 0 0

troy edwards(29) and reggie switon(30) what are you smoking[IMG]

Swinton wasnt even in the league last year.

also Teyo Johnson is a cardinal and Casey Fitzsimmons isnt a improvement over what we got.

Woodson wants top flight CB money.. and most teams dont even view him as a cb no more.

Not bashing you at all. I respect your opinion. I just don't agree with signing the guys you listed.

An OT on that FA list that we should really take a hard look at is Jacob Rogers. To make room for Fabini, Dallas released him about a month ago. This is a guy was considered the 2nd best OT prospect after Robert Gallery coming out of college just 2 years ago. Unfortunately for him, he was thrown into Parcells' dog house early in his rookie season after electing to have surgery before the regular season instead of after. Once he was in that dog house, he never got out. The only thing that's held him back thus far has been his injuries; he is only 24 years old. He was originally drafted by Parcells so I would think that he'd be a Tangini type guy. He would definately be a low risk/high reward pick up.

    Full Name: Jacob Rogers
Born: August 17, 1981 in Oxnard, CA
    Height: 6'6"
    Weight: 305 lbs
    Age: 24
    Pos: OT
    Experience: 2 years
    College: USC
    Drafted: 2004 2nd Rd 2 Pick # 20, Cowboys
2005 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc: Plays with good leverage, stays balanced and works hard to sustain blocks. Runs well for size, plays under control in space and generally gets the job done when asked to pull or trap. Takes good angles to downfield blocks, has good lateral mobility and can adjust to the moving target in space. Possesses adequate size and has the frame to add more bulk. Moves well laterally, shows sound footwork and can redirect inside after starting outside. However, Rogers isn't a physical drive blocker, he hasn't progressed as expected and there are some concerns about his ability to stay healthy. Lacks the lower body strength to consistently push the pile in the running game and massive two-gap defenders will give him problems.

Rogers is a former second-round pick of the Cowboys who has not played in a regular season game. He was a talented player coming out of college, but he has been injured the past two seasons. He is a solid athlete for the LOT position. He possesses solid foot quickness in pass protection. He can position in the run game and shows solid quickness getting to the second level. One of the biggest knocks on him coming out of college was his durability, and that has been what has really held back his development. He is at a point right now where he could potentially bust out of the league. If he can get healthy, he needs to add bulk and strength to his frame. He also must develop more physical and mental toughness. The biggest question with Rogers when he gets healthy may be whether or not he truly wants to play.

Azumah retired because of injury, Woodson will be too expensive, and why waste our time with Edwards or Swinton, who haven't been more than 4th strign receivers their career. Travis Henry is not a guy Mangini would want in his lockeroom.

Henry is signed, thru 2009 I think, with the Titans. Check on nflpa.org if you do not believe it under active players search. I posted this in your other thread too

Well i mentioned in one thread, that if mario falls to us we can trade for a tackle, and if mario is gone we draft ferguson, and have kimo as our DE, and draft a NT... If we draft mario kimo will be our NT.

Id still like to sign a RT heading into the draft. I think Backus was a LT, what was Salaam?

Victor Riley's still available, but he was cut by the Texans. THE TEXANS!!! I like him as a player, and think he could fill in nicely, but when the Texans cut you, especially looking at their oline, wellllll...buyer beware I guess

Arringtons still out there BTW and would complete our LB corps

I never said he was a "Parcell's" guy, just that "he was originally drafted by him" thus he could have some of the traits Tangini are looking for. Also many players have fallen out of favor with Parcells only to be in his good graces years later (see Glenn and Keyshawn). Remember when Parcells questioned Terry Glenn's heart and toughness and referred to him as "she" instead of "he" at a press conference? I'm not saying we should sign Rogers to a big contract so he can be our starter. Like I said before, he would be a very low risk high reward acquisition. If he does not pan out, it would cost us nothing. If he does, we would be getting a talented player that a minimum price with something to prove. We wouldn't be taking much of a chance here.

I'd suggest you actually know what you are talking about next time you post (you know, look up information if you need to on who are available players) in order to not look like a complete idiot. Not to mention the people you listed aren't all that hot (not even in the stars meaning, I'm just talking below average).

If you are talking about Charles Woodson from Oakland I would take him in a heartbeat. I know he could be a pain in the ass but he is still young.
