Hey, I know it was ugly. The passing game was out of sync all day long. And Sutton continues to make sure that pressure is just a term to describe that feeling in his innards he experiences after a bowl of chili. I mean seriously, has he ever heard the term blitz? I'll try and get an accurate count of the blitzes this week when I rewatch the game on Shortcuts. Still, as bad as it was, it was only one game, and a non-divisional game at that. The Jets sit at 3-3, have a very winnable home game next week. They deserve the bashing they are getting for the game today, but the calls for Mangini's firing are a bit premature at this stage (if the whole season tanks, then that will be a different story). Remember, the Steelers and Giants both started slow in their championship runs. We just need to stay competitive, and get hot the last third of the season. Chin up, Jets fans. It's never as bad as it seems.
great post, Tones.....but I think i'll save the optimism for tomorrow. I"m sick of the inconsistency....I don't expect the Jets to go 19-0...but i do expect the Jets to beat a 1-4 team run by Al "Diaperboy" Davis.
Slow, but good. My arm is still sore, but I can use the mouse now. I'm just waiting for the bone to union so I can back on my crutches. I'm sick of it too. I fully expected a win today. My daughter is the one who told me "Dad, you know the Jets don't do well in these types of games". And she's only 13 Still, I remain optimistic about this season, despite today's steaming pile in Oakland.
sounds like your daughter can rationalize a thought with better precision than Bob Sutton. I fully expected a win here as well....and believe me...I'm trying to stay optimistic. But with the team's issues with consistency....it's tough to keep your chin up on a weekly basis. How do you go from such a dominating performance against the Cards....to "this"!!! It boggles the mind.
no Sutton doesnt understand pressuring the QB which is why we have 18 sacks thus far.... the defense once again is absolutely not to blame... if i were to blame any particular unit it would have to be the offensive line which looked pourous at best
