Just a reminder I saw just they are going to be doing the State of the Jets segment on the NFL network in a few minutes (about 7:10 EST). Sorry in advance if this is in wrong section or already known

Joe Beningno is talking about how he likes the FA moves but its similar to the 90's when they brought in Boomer, Lott etc.

Like the major moves- the small ones he's a lil confuse about.

Attacked the draft moves in the past- very Jet like, as we know Joe is--- the lamenting Jet fan of the 90's picks.

Likes the new regime... Wants McFadden and no one else.

Outlook- how will the Pats bounce back? Everyone looks better in the AFC.. big year for the regime... need to go at very least 9-7.

Very critical, not many positives--- hopefully we will do ok..

If i wasn't a Jet fan and saw him-- i'd think we are going 2-14 this year.

Same old, same old. Beningno was the guest, and he said if McFadden is there at 6, we have to take him because the offense lacks speed. He also said we need to upgrade the safety spot opposite Rhodes and the cornerback spot opposite Revis.

Rod Woodson thinks Clemens should be the starter, and that our NEW offensive line has the chance to be the best in the league.

Charles Davis came on to talk about the draft and he said we should draft Vernon Gholston.

Alan Faneca is supposed to be on Jets' Cam later in the show.

    Thanks...great synopsis.

Boomer and Lott both played good for a couple of years...if that's all we get out of these guys then we are ok. I agree with McFadden but would be just as happy with Long or Golston. A playmaker on either side of the ball will be fine.

Benigno's as big a Jets fan as youll find but hes actually not that informed about anything thats going on. Just more misinformation. Good job NFL Network trying to find someone to inform the public about the Jets.

Faneca is next on Jets cam.. the new guy knows the most?? I guess its for TV rating considering we don't really have anyone thats good enough to be the face of the franchise... OR... he is already the new leader of the team.

You can watch the state of the franchise on nfl.com/videos and click on the nfl network tab. I think the guy is way too negative though.

He can be a fucking Neanderthal for all I care, as long as he knocks the opposing defensive lineman on his ass and keeps our QB upright.

You know, I believe it is true that the offense overall lacks speed. However, it is also true that when you have no blocking whatsoever most of the time, the RB looks pretty slow in the first couple of steps when he's leveled by a WILL who has an 8 yard running start to get up to speed.

Matter of fact, with the defense having pinned back its ears with less than 2 minutes gone in most games (usually, this only happens in blow-outs during the second half), the skill players on the NYJ might as well be running in mud up to their thighs for all the good their "speed" (potential) is doing them.

I think it's worth emphasizing again for those hard of hearing, that without an OL that pass blocks and run blocks well, all the skill players (including the QB) have flat tires for wheels. They are not going anywhere behind swiss cheese.

We shouldn't worry about speed on the NYJ until the OL can regularly give the skill players a chance to take more than two steps before getting blasted to the ground.

I always thought Leon Washington was pretty fast, except Benigno didn't even mention him.

They had Joe Beningo on? These moves are nothing like the moves from the offseason of '92 and we've done well in the draft this decade. I hate when people just ignore everything that has been done and focus on the negative. This has been the best 10 year stretch of Jets football in our history, yeah we have had a few bad seasons but mostly we have had good seasons so we must have done something right. 1992 and the bad drafts of the 80s have nothing to do w/ what we are doing eight now.

Actuallly, we drafted awfully from 02-05. That's why we needed the free agents. the over the hill thing is dumb. Richardson is older, but not a big contract, same with Franks. Jenkins is 29, Faneca is 31 and Pace is 27. The only one over 30 is Faneca and he is considered our best signing. It just people dumping on the Jets.

i lost respect for beningo when he said he wanted the patriots to go undefeated, and win the superbowl. he also gushed about his love for beli-cheat. f#ck that traitor!!
i also can't see how people are saying you can't build a championship team, through FA. first of all, how can it be said we are trying to build our team, through FA? sure,we added a lot of FA's, this off season, but what about our draft the last couple of years? brick, mangold, revis, rhoads, harris, washington.these guy's are our future, mixed in with a good bunch of FA'S. that's not building through FA. we've got a lot of impact players from the draft, also. let's just face the facts, until we start "consistently" winning games, we will never get any respect.
