So, I'm starting a Jets franchise where I am going to play all the games of the regular season. My question is Do I keep Curtis Martin as the starter or do I make it more realistic for this season and start Barlow or Blaylock? Opinions.

Dump Martin. Dump most of the team actually
    I got rid of:
    Martin
    Pennington
    Baker
    Von Oelhoffen
    McCarreins
    Rhodes
    Houston
    Askew
    Jolley
    Adrian Jones
Bunch of picks, all i need is a 1 and a 2, I also have a bunch of low-end ones cuz if a team is gonna trade someone with you, you can always add in a 6th or 7th and they will still do it. Then you can trade a bunch of low picks for a few mid picks, then trade those for 1 or 2 first day picks

    I Have:
    QB- Clemmens
    RB- DeAngelo Williams (via Panthers)
    FB- Kyle Johnson (via Broncos)
WR- Coles, Cotch, Brad Smith, Dwight
    TE- Kellen Winslow (via Browns)
OT- D'Brick, some guy on the FA list (hes like an 83)
    OG- Kendall, Moore
    C- Mangold

DE- Aaron Schobel (via Bills), Elliss
DT- Kevin Williams (via Minnesota), D-Rob
    LB- same
    CB- same
S- Coleman, Josh Bullovks (via Saints)

All the guys I got are rated higher than what the roster already was (except Clemmens, but he's getting there). Plus, most of them have gotten significantly better.

haha... i was trying to keep some kind of realism so I could play with the team we are fielding this year.. If I wanted different players I would have just done a fantasy draft. You did improve the team though

When I start mine tonight, I'm going to have Year 1 realistic. After that I'll see how it will go...

That's what I said going into it, but then I made one trade, then another, and so on... It's addictive.

I tried to keep it somewhat realistic, by not getting all superstars, I wanted to work some guys up (DeAngelo Williams, Josh Bullocks, Winslow to an extent). I definatly could've just gotten a bunch of pro-bowlers, but thats no fun.

And incase anybody is having trouble getting a guy they want in a trade, just sign one of the higher rated free agents at a position the team you are trying to trade wiht isn't very strong at, and incorporate that player into the trade, it works almost every time.

I just started mine with Barlow as the starter and I simmed the first season. I ended up with a 5-11 record and a pretty good draft pick. Vilma had 120 tackles and 17 sacks. Barlow rushed for over 1400 yards.

Martin is great man. i had 1500 yds and 12 TDs with him yr 1 of franchise i won the superbowl i went 12-4 and he retired on a great note. hes not very fast but has enough speed to do damage and he breaks tackles like crazy. it was great playin with him, penny, and coles in yr 1. now i'm in yr 2 with penny still at the helm, #3 overall pick(traded up) RB Anthony Bright who is a white guy and it looks really weird with a white RB cause i dont think there is 1 in the entire league (FBs dont count) 85 overall 91 spd. cotch n coles as my WR's with Vernon davis and Baker as my TEs and all the defence, and OL are as present in real life

i need to buy this game and get my franchise going...i am into year 5 with the vacs on nba live 05 nad kept it semi realistic but if i need to dump a current player in real life, i did.

if i do a dynasty with the jets, ill start of realistic and take it from there...cant wait to punt
