This is the stuff on his No.1 hot spot GM: " 10-pack: GMs who need to deliver on draft day Posted: April 4, 2008 With the 2008 draft barely three weeks away, more general managers likely are feeling a little more antsy than their counterparts in other cities. For various reasons, these 10 GMs are (or at least should be) feeling a little tight in the collar as the time period for making picks gets closer and closer. 1. Mike Tannenbaum, Jets: Owner Woody Johnson recently said that Tannenbaum and coach Eric Mangini will be back in 2009. Their bigger concern could be 2010. The team's free-agent spending spree suggests a strong desire to win now, but the quarterback position might need some serious attention in order to allow this team to compete with the likes of the Patriots. If Matt Ryan is on the board when the Jets pick at No. 6, Tannenbaum will be popping Tums like they were Tic-Tacs. " Here's the link: http:/www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t-395536
Please. Mike Tannenbaum thrives under the pressure of draft day. With all the awesome moves he's made so far, I'd root for the guy if he drafted Kyle Brady. What about Parcells? He's not a GM, I know, but in essence, who else is running the Dolphins draft, really? He could restore the franchise with one good move or sink it permanently with one bad one. The Bengals GM is definitely under more pressure than Tannenbaum. With the holdouts of Housh and Chad and the release of Henry, do they have ONE wide receiver right now? Or a defense? Who the hell would you draft at their spot? And I say this every year, but it has to be make or break time for Matt Millen. HAS TO BE. Mike Tannenbaum is chillin like a villain right now. #6 is prime real estate. Top five value, top ten prices. Lovin' it.
