Personally, I don't like Laurinitis, so my question is this: Do people here expect Maualuga or Spikes to drop to the Jets' position? I would like to see the Jets draft one of these two, but will they even be available?

Spikes should unless his stock goes up a lot (very possible)

Maualuga could fall if he has bad workouts or something.

I don't really like Maualuga, i think he could be a good pro player, but i don't think he's anything special.

no way Maualuga is not going before Spikes without a doubt. I think its more like likely to see Laurinitis along with Spikes. Now for a little rant about spikes

One of our strengths about our team last season was that on Defense we had alot of big guys which reflected in our front 7. However my issue was that there was not a ton of athleticism and speed on the team (not everyone) but I think part of the reason down the stretch that our team struggled so much was because we did not have an athletic and speedy linebacker who can cover well. Spikes looks like a guy who can fly over the field. Also Spikes has pretty good hands he has 4 INT last season

Watch the National Title game tonight -- if Spikes has a good game, along with good workouts, he probably won't be around at 17.

Maualuga has very good lateral movement which is what you need in you ILB he sheds blockers and can make tackles

Spikes is faster, and can cover better than Maualuga, which is exactly what we need at this point. Drafting Maualuga would give us a sick run stuffing defense but it would most likely be the same as this year against the pass unless we bring Rhodes/Elam&Smith's replacement down to cover the center of the field and run a cover - 3 on defense. Spikes gives us much more flexibility and still brings a tough, physical presence to the running game.

i dont think any of the three fall to us to be honest. laurenitus is underrated cuz all Ohio State does is underachieve in an severely overrated Conference. laurenitus is as smart and athletic as LB as youll ever find. a compliment overused, but he literraly is a "defenses QB". safest pick at LB IMO

maualuga, size and speed ratio is amazing, a complete beast in the run game tends to overpursue and discipline will need good coaching to fix but as far as potential goes hes probably the best LB in the draft.

spikes, hes just the fired up, gritty, athletic tough bastard u want on any defense. im a FSU fan, ive watched this guy wreak havoc plenty. he'll be top 10 if he comes out so dont dream guys. word is he might stay since Tebow is, but the big story is his brother is doing life for a murder charge which might be falsely accused and hes going to go pro to get money and try to help his brother out legally.

im not bs'ng you guys there was a big story about it in the paper friday.
