Although we lossed and I have to owe some PAT fans $100, I feel this team has what it takes to win.

If we look at this team, we have the right players to win. It all comes down to execution. The past 2 weeks, the Jets have shown us they can march down field, they can stop the run, they can get pressure on the quarterback. Mangini is a smart man. He recognizes what needs to be fixed and I will be surprised if this goes on again next week.

    Problems
    Special Teams
    Play calling
    Penalties (need to be disciplined)

From what I can tell, Mangini is not big on discipline. Hate him or not, Herm had this team well disciplined and I miss him for that.

We have the fire power why are we playing conservative??? F the FG's I'm all about going for 6 in the redzone.

Our Special teams is going to have to make plays. Missing field goals, giving up excellent field position to our opponents needs to stop.

It hurts to lose especially when you look at the what if's and know we have what it takes to win. The good thing about it is that we see our flaws early and we can turn it around.

Look for the Jets to bounce back next week.

Whta bothers me the most offensively is the rhythm. Every play the play clock is close to zero before we snap the ball, our offense has no rhythm to it. I realize Favre is still in his infancy in the O and that probably contributes a bit to it but we need to move w/ a greater sense of urgency especially down 16-3 in the 4th qtr.

We need a punter, Graham is God awful....we need a guy to punt straight up in the air 42 yards and a fair catch...he killed us with poor field position

I agree 100%. I hope its because Favre is learning the playbook like you said but it looks like semi-organized chaos every snap...ummm kinda like Favre has played his whole career....we were just an unorganized, unprepared mess yesterday

We also had to burn 2 TOs on Defense because someone didn´t know the call or anything like that. I don´t think this is an Offense Problem, more a Team Problem.

And yeah, our Specialteams are Awful so far. We started ever Drive inside our own 30 and always gave the Pats the ball around Midfield. But I belive Westhoff will get that fixed.

Everyone knew it was going to take time for the O to gel with so many new faces at critical positions, it is no great surprise that they aren't in sync yet. We lost that game yesterday because our STs was dominated and the costly Favre interception.

You are not going to win many games when you lose the field position battle as bad as the Jets did yesterday, especially against a team like the Pats.

Are you kidding? We didn?t have the lead once in this game and we had a ton of 1st-and-15, 1st-and-20, 3rd-and-forever. That wasn?t a Penny game.

No matter how bad our teams have been the past decade, the one thing that stood out was always our Special Teams Play. We would always have a few TD runbacks, our coverage was solid and our kicking game always above average.

This year we can not kick deep, cover well, return well, punt well or make FG's.

Gotkowski, yesterday put every ball in the End Zone, made Every FG, and the Punter kicked Bombs.

Its not as if either of you had a major revelation. Anyone with half a head on their shoulders could see that those were the problems we have right now. If your that worried about someone stealing your thunder on this topic its truly sad.

Also, you are not TGG.com thread police. We have mods for that. First you call out Tony of all people and now have to interject that you were "first" on this thread. Whoop-de-fricken-do. This is a place to exchange ideas, thoughts, feelings, and frustrations about our favorite team. Not a WAAHHH I posted that first type of place. Your are not winning any awards by posting here. Your also not making any friends with your attitude.

    Plagiarism? Seriously?

Perhaps the reason the thread is so similar to what you had said is because it's true? The point remains that the creator of the thread probably just missed your post due to the piles of shit splattered all over the place here.
    ---------------

Anyway, back to the topic. The coaching on this team sucks. It's not directly Mangini's fault, but he needs to take one on the chin for this loss. This team is unprepared for the plays that are called, and the calls being called are puzzling at best.

I've been blaming Sutton for the past couple seasons and giving Shottenheimer a pass. Well, that stops now. Schotty needs to get his head in the game and start calling plays that I can't predict from my couch.

And what about Favre saying explicitly this week that the team needs to run more didn't make sense to Schotty? Why did we abandon the run while it was still working? When you have a tandem like Jones and Washington, you run the ball until the opposing defense proves it can stop you from getting 4 yards a carry.

The point about the rhythm was made also, and it's a good one. Why the hell is the playclock at zero every time the ball is snapped? Get the play in, and get to the line. All this movement on the line wasn't fooling the Pats. Line up, and run the damn play. Forget all this motion garbage.

It's year three of the Mangini 3-year-plan. So far, in two games, we've looked far from ready for a run. Keep in mind, that "improved" Miami team we barely beat last week lost 31-10 to the Cardinals.
