Would it have killed you to at least post a score? I saw the game was 24-10 at one point in the 4th quarter and I turned it off. Now I suppose it came down to the wire. I'll go check a sports site for the score.
It ended up being 24-17. South Carolina marched 93 yds in the beginning of the 4th after not getting the ball AT ALL in the 3rd quarter. Auburn went 3 and out and South Carolina went down to around the 5 yd line. On that drive they converted on 4th and 3 and 4th and 10. When they got to the 5, they had a penalty that set them back a little and on 4th down with less than 10 seconds left, they lobbed it in to the back of the endzone in double coverage. The ball hit the reciever's hands and was then knocked away. Like I said, good game, but I don't know about that call.
sidney rice is one of the top receivers in the country, but with the way they were on him, i would have went with a QB sneak from ole sly newton
I hate Spurrier, but I gotta admit he did a pretty good job until the waning minutes of the 4th. Especially considering the fact that SC never had the ball in the 3rd quarter. On a side note I'm still not too high on Kenny Irons. He's good at hitting a hole, but I like more powerful runners. Get better soon Michael Bush!!!!!
Auburn was blanketing Rice all night--Irons is a great cover corner and Will Muschamp is one of the best defensive coordinators in the country. They decided to make somebody else beat them, and SC failed. Aubun may just get screwed again by the BCS because they play tough SEC football (they aren't going to blow out half of their competition like USC.) But in my mind a 7 point win over South Carolina is just as impressive as a 50 point win over Washington State.
