    Kristian Dyer reporting it:

"If Marcus Mariota is available at No. 6 in next month's NFL Draft, he likely will be taken. But a league source said the Jets, in desperate need for a quarterback, won't be selecting the former Oregon QB there and that the Eagles and Jets would make a trade if the scenario plays out.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a highly-placed league source termed a potential marriage between Mariota, the Heisman and Maxwell Award winner after a stunning 2014 season, and the Jets as “highly unlikely.” The source said that the Jets aren't in the mood to pick Mariota with their sixth pick and that if the Oregon quarterback is available, the “Jets will be shipping that pick away.”

    The likely landing spot?

“Philadelphia would make that move and pay that price. We're talking multiple picks and a player,” the source said.

“The Jets would be open to moving the pick and the Eagles have internally prepared to move up in the draft. There are contingencies in place and they know that Marcus is that perfect fit.”"

If its kings ransom I say take the trade(Meaning 3 picks this year and 2 future 1sts + Foles). Mariota is not sure fire elite star in the NFL coming from that scheme.

I'm not moving from a potential Stud QB just cause Kelly wants to be reunited so if he is in need that much pay up

I smell bullshit. My money is on a team picking ahead of the Jets trying to drum up demand for a trade out of there own spot.

the Eagles would be fuming if they had a deal like this worked out on paper and the jets leaked it and they'd be foolish to leak it themselves.

a "LEAGUE SOURCE" knows that's what Mac wants to do? Hmmm

Investigating all options is another story.

Our front office may not actually like him enough to have their own future ride on him tho...Hope that's it and not they're wavering and playing scared

This makes sense also. I can see this being the case.

There's no way Philly is giving 5 picks and a player for Mariota. Their 1st and 3rd, and next year's 1st, plus Foles is more realistic IMO.

If this is true, it better fucking be a King's Ransom, and every fucking pick the Jets get for moving down better turn into an All Pro player or I'm done with this fucking team.

This year's first and third, next year's first and third, and Foles.

Tis the season for high profile draft / trade rumors and league sources "speaking on the condition of anonymity". I love the lead up to the draft

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

I don't want the Jets to trade down either, but this is a little much. The Jets have made many, many stupider decisions in the past. And getting a few firsts for a potential franchise Qb who also may be nothing special isn't bad.

That would be great, I just don't know. The jump would be huge. I would want the 1st this year, the 1st next year, 2nd this year, 2nd next year and Nick Foles......if Foles has more worth than that, the 2nd next year can become a 3rd.

3 high draft picks and a 3rd year QB I think would suffice though I know some fans would disagree. Might fight for Philly's 4th this year.

It may be a little much for you, but it obviously isn't for me. I've seen enough stupid decisions by this team to last two lifetimes, and I've had it. If they pass up a chance at a franchise QB, trade down and then miss on the picks, the Jets will once again be screwed and it will prove that they have a GM who doesn't know what in the hell he's doing. In that case, I'm not wasting any more of my time on this hapless joke of a franchise. You follow the team for 50 plus years then you can sit in judgement and make snide comments; otherwise keep your comments to yourself.

This is a rumor, take it with a grain of salt. I changed the title because this isn't a factual Statement. Just B.S. from a unnamed source this reporter mentioned.

If the Jets want Mariota bad this would be the perfect rumor to plant so that the Eagles don't trade with Washington to jump ahead of us. It is also the perfect rumor for Philly to plant so that the Jets would think Philly is willing to wait until 6 for him.
