that was last year probably when he was already back with the phins. even if your right that he would just be collecting a paycheck with no effort involved the favre situation isn't really comparable. favre had an impact on every offensive snap. taylor would be a 3rd down pass rush specialist with far less opportunity to impact the team in a positive or negative way.
That was last year, before he realized how hopeless the Phins were and before the Jets made it to the conference championship with a rookie QB and the best defense in the league. And how do you know there isn't much interest in him?
