IF we had the first pick and you were the GM, who would you have picked? Some talking heads are now comparing the two so wanted to know what our QB gurus picked? If you picked Lawrence, no explanation needed as that is somewhat the consensus anyway. If you picked Wilson, please tell us why.
Lawrence has multiple good seasons to go by, and far fewer red flags. He has already proven himself. Wilson had one good season against basement defenses, and still struggled in postseason. But this is just like, my opinion man.
Lawrence 100% He is the best prospect I have ever evaluated. He is right there with Luck, Peyton and Elway. Seems like every 10-15 years there is that slam dunk prospect and Trevor Lawrence is this generations. I am a little concerned for him going to the Jags and Urban Meyer. That dude literally destroys QBs in preparation for the NFL. On the Jets in a Shanahan style offence similar to what Elway ran he would of been perfect. Fuck.
Knowing what I know - meaning not being able to watch them in person, interview them, etc., as well as not knowing what Douglas & Co. are looking for, I have to go with Lawrence as the "safe" pick. But I think is a fair chance Wilson may turn out to be better.
I have been saying since I first joined the board that I think TL is overhyped and overrated, and I think Wilson is going to be the better NFL QB. No reason to change that opinion now. I think we draft Wilson at number 2 after the Jags draft TL....and in a few years, we will all be very happy.
