It is quite possible the Jets could drop to 4-6 at best 5-5 IMHO... IF we wind up losing both of the next two games AND Chad plays poorly in BOTH...what do we do? Do we stick it out with Chad and give him a full season with the offense even though the playoffs would be highly unlikey? Or should the Jets begin the Clemens era? I actually don't know what I would want them to do, but if we do infact fall to 4-6, I think the question would have to come up... How do you feel on the matter? I am not going to root for Pennington to suck just so we can see Clemens, but I don't think he can continue what he did today against the Pats and the Bears because he might be done if that happens.
As a rookie head coach, at 4-6, there will be no way in hell he would give up on the season already and put kellen in. At 4-6, it is still very possible to get into the playoffs. The Kellen era will NOT start this year.
I feel that we stick with Pennington. I personally didn't see the game today. I was able to listen to it on espn radio. However, he has been pretty solid for us all season. He deserves to be given the chance to finish a full season. After this year we can decide what to do, but until then let's give Pennington this one chance to have a healthy season.
"Very Possible"??? At 4-6? Just a reminder, we just lost to the Browns today. If we were 4-6 we would have to win the last 6 games AND EVEN THEN we may or may not get in... Every team we have remaining on our schedule will give us a run for our money...
wow this guy has basically carried this team on his back this season. One bad game ( jax doesnt count, the whole team played bad) and were talking about clemens. No way man. Give me what your smoking.
If our coach is throwing in the towel at 4-6, maybe it's time he retires and becomes a French war general or something, because you can't just quit at that point as a rookie head coach, or any head coach for that matter.
Won't happen. The Jets still have a soft schedule, and should've won today, the bullshit call cost us the game.
I never said put Clemens in automatically if we lose the next two games...I said I think the thought will go through their heads Give me what you are smoking because you can't even read my post correctly...
I don't think losing to the Patriots and Bears, two teams that are the best in their respective leagues, will prompt Mangini to make a move then. Houston, Green Bay, Buffalo, Miami, and Oakland are five more reasons in the next six weeks to not yet give up on the season. If Pennington plays badly in one or two of the last six games, then I can see the move, and probably for certain when and if the Jets are out of the race.
Who said anything about quitting? I never said put Kellen Clemens in their and lose the rest of our games...
I say stick with Chad the rest of the season, no matter how poorly he plays. I'm not a big fan of the "baptism by fire" for QBs...especially behind a suspect O-Line. Granted they've been playing well so far, I'd still like to prevent Clemens from getting into a situation where he isn't completely prepared and the O-Line isn't giving him any help. I say let Clemens watch and learn from the bench for a season, and if things are real bad, consider him starting for next season...not this one.
He was saying the Jets season was over if they lost during the 1st quarter in the game thread, and was willing to root for a draft pick last year.
we are more than likely gonna end up 4-6,and IMO is why this game was so important. There are a lot of winnable games after the next 2. But we will stick with Chad. And rightfully so. he had a bad game today.
Maybe Chad would benefit from playing a full year in the offense. So, I say stick with Chad. Maybe once the Jets are mathematically out of it.
