...Mitch Trubisky is consensus top 15 pick with 14 starts and Jerod Evans as of now is projected as a day 3 pick. They have similar size, athleticism, stats, competition and number of starts.
I was high on Trubisky early on, but he's looking to be one of the biggest frauds in the upcoming draft and likely a fourth round grade or so in most years. People forget that production matters in the NFL. This isn't the NBA where a Kyrie Irving doesn't have to play to know he has the skills. I want productive players producing at a high level in college or I don't want them at all. It's the Baltimore Ravens style of drafting and the reason that they always have tons of their own draft picks all over the field. 24 year old Zach Orr is a great example of this. Hopefully Maccagnan feels the same way and stays away from Trubisky in the first round.
Why did he play 2 years at a community college? That sounds suspicious, like maybe he isn't all that bright.
I thought Trubisky was like 6'3 but apparently he's closer to 6'1. That means he's off my draft board. Why did this guy come out earlier? Looks like he needs another yr of school. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
The more I read about him, the more he reminds me of Sanchez. One year of good production on a good team and everyone is cumming over him. I hope the Bears take him so we're not tempted. Something tells me the reports of him being on our radar is a smoke screen if it wasn't the usual Maniah Mehta bullshit. Maybe trying to bait the Bills into trading up for him?
He was under-recruited out of high school and went to the air force academy. He went to JUCO only after tearing his ACL playing football for the academy. I've seen interviews done with this kid; he's no dummy. He does give the impression that he has a massive chip on his shoulder though, a trait a love in players.
He does remind me of Sanchez / Tannehill combo ... best case scenario, Kizer goes to the 49ers, Bears take Mitch. Jets would have so many options at 6.
I don't know much about Jerod Evans, but Trubisky fits the mold of the prototypical QB the NFL desires, for better or for worse. The NFL seems to shy away from unorthodox QBS who either come from systems they deem spread Quaterbacks, or either don't have the requisite physical tools I guess the NFL desires. I'm no expert, but it seems as if they're antiquated evaluation method is the reason why guys like Russell Wilson fall, but a guy like Gabbert guy like can go early.
Yeah I am a creeper, I quoted you twice ... looks like your thought may have some traction ... PLEASE DO IT BILLS
man I hope so. that would be so great if Buffalo sells the farm for that overrated QB. At his last presser their GM hinted at blowing things up and starting from scratch though. Moving up to 1 to take a QB would fit the bill there
I said that pretty blindly but it seems like a Bills move. I hope they do it. They actually aren't the worst situation in the world for a young quarterback. They have a good offensive line and a young core of receivers (even if Watkins is a pussy) and a good running game as a result of their run blocking based offensive line. On a side note I think I've posted this before, but a friend of a friend worked for and interned for the Buffalo Bills. He said that Watkins won't even play if he's in a tiny bit of pain and is a huge primadonna about it. Take it for what you will but I love that they traded up for his soft ass (no homo).
Definitely. Except we completely dismantled the offense shortly thereafter once that young quarterback showed signs of progress. And we subsequently threw our hands up in the air when he didn't turn into Peyton Manning the next year. Wonder what happens to Sanchez if we kept the offense intact instead of trying to build a super secondary and a wall of defensive tackles. Or maybe, ya know, try to draft some young offensive parts to build around him. We hardly knew ye Marky Mark.
