It was truly a bizarre game from the Jets. They are 5-2 but I hope the last two games are not a sign of things to come. Coaching: 1) How do you give your punter the ability to fake it on any punt? What if he's punting from the end zone can he fake it then? 2) Using 3 straight timeouts with 4 minutes to go and not saving one when they had a 4th and 10 later in the game was a horrible decision. 3) Using and losing 2 challenges in the first half. The first one was a fumble by Brad Smith and the second one they shouldn't have been able to challenge. Once the refs call it an interception they can't overturn possession. They can only call it incomplete. Also, even if they overturn the challenge it's still 4th down. The play was only going to net the jets about 20 yards on a punt. And now you've left yourself with no challenges the rest of the game which is coaching 101. 4) Offensive play calling - Jets are down one possession all game and yet they have a ratio of 40 passes to 26 runs. The Packers defense may have been playing well but you just keep lining up and running it when it’s a one possession game. 5) Offensive Scheme/Running game: It seems to me that Denver figured out a way to really slow down our running game. Green Bay saw the tape and probably followed the same game plan. "They did a good job disrupting our blocking scheme," right tackle Damien Woody said. "We're a zone-blocking scheme, and those guys blitzed and did things to disrupt it." The coaching staff needs to make an adjustment since two teams have basically figured out how to stop the Jets running game. 6) Offensive Scheme/Passing game: When you watch other teams it seems like if the QB has 3 or 4 seconds someone is always wide open. With the Jets offense is seems that it’s a struggle for anyone to get open. Fans don’t have the game film so it’s impossible to see the route combinations but something doesn’t add up. The Jets have excellent skill players that seem to play down to another level in this system. Players: 7) The false start on Sanchez/Mangold. How does that happen? 8) The large amount of drops by every receiver. 9) Weatherford for deciding to fake the punt on 4th and 18th inside the Jets 20. How does a punter decide to fake a punt when he’s not even sure of the down/distance? 10) The first play after the fake punt was a big gain for the Packers. It seemed Drew Coleman thought he had help over the top but he didn’t. How is the Jets secondary still not on the same page? 11) I don’t know what’s going on with Sanchez but he seems so frantic and rushed in the pocket. He goes through his possessions so awkwardly. The accuracy issues are really starting to be a problem. Refs: 12) How do you call those two plays interceptions? When possession is shared the offensive player is given the completion. Why did they let the Jets challenge the first one? Possession cannot be overturned by replay so what exactly was Rex challenging? Calling both of those plays interceptions is bizarre. The Jets defense played a great game. Green Bay was 2-14 on third downs and they were forced to punt 8 times. The Jets should have won this game but they did everything in their power to lose it. The frequent penalties, turnovers, bad coaching decisions and arrogance of this group needs to be fixed asap.
