"5. People are saying Chad Pennington can't throw a Hail Mary pass due to the fact that his heave at the end of regulation yesterday against the Patriots fell to the earth a good 20 yards short of the end zone. But I disagree. I define a Hail Mary as desperately heaving the ball as far as one possibly can in hopes of a miracle completion. That's what Pennington does on pretty much every pass attempt -- or at least the ones longer than four or five yards. So lay off the guy already." http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=gallo/060918 I know it shouldnt bother me, but it does. It bothers me a lot. I hate when people say things that just dont make any sense. In this case, DJ Gallo shows he clearly hasnt watched the Jets play in two weeks yet is still confident he knows everything. He threw 2 bombs to Coles in week 1 as well thrown as you could possibly throw it. In week 2, as he was being hit, he threw the ball about 50 yards to Cotch(apparently also known as "kick you in the crotch") while being hit by two dlinemen. Clearly Pennington can throw a deep ball, and im sure if thats what he was going for he could have throw it. He was throwing the ball to Coles down the field. There was time for another play. He didnt need to throw the ball in the end zone.
Mike Greenberg this morning said sort of the same thing... He didn't like how Mangini didn't bring in Ramsey for the final heave of 65 yards to reach the endzone and was pretty disappointed. I mean, had the Jets completed another 10 yard pass then I would of been fine to put in Ramsey for a prayer... But of course people are gonna 2nd guess whatever they can.
Page 2 is known for its sarcastic comments. Whatever is written on Page 2...take it with a grain of salt.
Absolutely. Did you read the other comments? Basically every one is a sarcastic criticism of John Fox, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Donovan McNabb, Andy Reid, Steve McNair, the entire Redskins offense, etc., etc. Getting worked up over this is truly a waste of time.
