Douglas seemed to upgrade the O line right off the bat. Will he sign Anderson or address a cornerback? I think he should get an edge rusher. If he does that then I think our draft pick at 11 will be a WR.

Think Douglas is working on adding Dorsett and bringing Anderson back.

We should still try and bring back Beachum and maybe still sign Van Roten to replace Winters. The OL is still shitty as fuck even with McGovern at C.

I'd also like to bring back Robby Anderson and Brian Poole as long as the price isn't ridiculous.

    Well we still need

    2 CB- Harris Jr, Poole?
    OLB- Clowney, Fowler, Floyd, Kennard?
    2-3 WR- Robby, Dprsett, Draft?
    2-3 OL Peters, GVR, Draft?
    K

So take your pick what’s next

I was just talking about this.

I think he's on the verge and about to splash on an outside pass rushing FA. We haven't featured one since Abraham.

He's also a former offensive lineman himself. And OLB's vs. O-Lineman battle one another every Sunday. Joe Douglas himself knows how important an elite pass rusher is.

Stats aside. You add an athletic pass rusher such as a Clowney or Fowler Jr. to a defensive unit who already has Jamal Adams. Marcus Maye. C.J Mosley. Avery Williamson and Quinnen Williams in place with Gregg Williams dialing up the play calls? You add a Clowney or Fowler Jr. and forget about it that defense would dominate a Bradyless AFC East Division.

Maybe this is why he's refused giving these FA O-Lineman big money. And has yet to bring back Jordan Jenkins; because he's got his mind made up on a pass rusher as our #1 F.A addition.

I really hope you're right. There's a ton left in free agency. People really overreact after day 1. I've been guilty of it myself.

I love how Connor McGovern is signed and the whole board calms down because they’ve heard his name before

I remember how fun it was watching John Abraham pressure and pursue opposing quarterbacks. But back then, we did not have a Jamal Adams All-Pro roaming the entire defense while Abe caused havok. Sign me up.

I’m thinking Dorsett was in line to be Anderson’s replacement . The fact that he hasn’t been signed yet tells me there’s a better chance of Anderson coming back.

I don’t see the wisdom of signing two WRs with this WR rich draft coming up. Personally I say sign Anderson and draft 2 WRs. That sets up the Jets for years with Anderson, Crowder, and the two WRs taken early in the draft...

I’m thinking the same thing. It’s either Fowler or a blockbuster involving Ngakoue. Just a gut feeling ...

there will be nothing splashy -- that's both my hope and expectation

if we add anyone else it will disappoint the fans who want at their peak household names. Not happening

we will get quality and quantity to fill roster and balance out roster among younger vets and newbies. I also expect guys who truly like to play football

we will also keep a decent chunk of change to deal with camp casualties and the like.

Maybe, but we have a ton of needs . This is a good class for ol and wr but they will go fast and the deeper you get into the draft, the lesser the talent

Hopefully a capable Back-Up QB too. Not sure who is available now though.

Overall, a really positive day for the Jets. Add 2 solid O-lineman and Brady leaves the AFC East.

At this point it’s Anderson or Poole and I think we’re shut down.

    1. Get Fowler
    2. Resign Robby and Poole
    3. Acquire another vet cornerback (Darby?)
    4. Keep inquiring about Trent Williams (should we not draft a Tackle in round 1).

I believe we can do all these things and stay under budget.

I don’t think #4 is happening at this point. That’s why they signed Fant. I think the plan is he will be the temporary LT until whatever OT they draft is ready to step in.

They can do a little more - even if they don’t sign Anderson they’ll sign another WR. Hopefully Poole and they will also sign an EDGE, a back up QB, and probably another OL along the way. I also don’t think they are done with cuts yet - they will find ways to add extra cap room if necessary.

I wouldn't be shocked if news starts picking up regarding us and Clowney. There was reported interest as of a few days ago.

I think we still should sign Van Roten or Wisniewski. Resign Anderson. And pick up a #1 WR at pick 11.
