WALTHAM, Mass. (Oct. 30, 2006) -- The son of New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick was placed on probation for six months after being arrested on one count of marijuana possession. The charge against Stephen Belichick, 19, will be dismissed after six months if he stays out of trouble, said Emily LaGrassa, spokeswoman for the Middlesex County District Attorney's office. Belichick had a "very, very small amount" of marijuana and had no prior record, Weston police Sgt. Danny Maguire said. Belichick was arraigned in Waltham District Court where the case was continued without a finding, LaGrassa said. Belichick and Jonathan Pizarro, 18, were arrested Oct. 28 in a parking lot, Maguire said. He said Pizarro was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Team spokesman Stacey James said Bill Belichick could not immediately be reached for comment. The Patriots played a road game against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football.
I hate the lack of privacy today. Does that deserve to be the top headline on NFL.com? Is that at all relevent in the NFL? (Not blasting you, blasting news in general) What is the point of making an article on this? How many people here have smoked or gotten caught for it? It is not a big deal and bears no relevance or importance in the league.
The reason is because the NFL is becoming more and more of a male's version of a TV drama show. If you think it isn't explain to me why there is so much damn coverage on TO every single week.
I agree completely. This has NO relevance to his father and the NFL. The fact this is on the offical NFL web site makes it that much more outrageous. How would you like it if your family's personal business was put on the front page of the web site of the company you worked for? I would respect him even more if he used his postgame press conference tonight to rip the NFL for violating his privacy, and for just being a bunch of jackasses.

He should be punished for not having more. Kid growing up with his dad's kind of dough ought to be holding Ricky Williams style.
Very well put. Couldn't agree more. I don't care if it is a coach or player I don't like, it is none of my business. I hate it when business crosses into family business.
