How on Earth has Fitzpatrick not learned to do a slide yet? All season I've cringed every time he goes headfirst and today he paid the price. How does Geno put his head down and take on that hit instead of jumpIng out of bounds?? Unreal , I blame it on poor coaching. They should have it drilled it into them that they are the king of the chess game and have to be protected.
Fitz- it was a matter of time....The next time he actually slides will be the first Geno- Not much game awareness to say the least and he's taken big hits from his first snap here....Also a matter of time Blame the coaching all you want but once instincts kick in its not going to help Coaching sucks in other areas but these guys have probably been told many times what to do
Geno still doesn't know you can throw the ball away instead of running out of bounds for a 7 yard loss. The guy is a mental midget... Fitz went to Harvard so not sure what his excuse is, you would think after like 7 straight seasons of getting injured and let go by his team he would learn to just fucking slide after he gets the first instead of insisting on that last yard and getting a season ending injury.
As soon as Fitz started the scrambling the writing was on the wall for an injury. I just figured it would be a shoulder or concussion rather then what it was.
Very surprised Fitz hasn't learned seeing as how he's a vet. He certainly won't make that mistake twice.
It's just unbelievable to consider what was in Fitz' thought process to not slide once he had three first down. What the heck was he trying to prove? Also, Geno just doesn't seem smart outside the pocket. How many times does he have to get tackled or run out of bounds for negative yardage when he has plenty of time to throw the ball away? Also the play down the sideline where he doesn't step out of bounds and gets drilled was idiotic. The guy just doesn't seem to have football sense.
Suckchez did the same thing. Too many QB's think they're tough enough to be real play makers running the ball when a) they aren't and b) they need to realize they're the key to a teams success so they can't be putting themselves in position for a major injury. The slide rule was put in place to protect the QB so they can play the majority of the season. They need wake up and realize they need to slide at all costs unless its in the championship game and you're going for the go ahead score with no time left.
Yep, I agree. You can't teach self-preservation. If someone is gonna put their hand to the fire you can't stop them getting burned--all you can do is warn them. The crazy part is when they do it again....
