They were horrible and couldn't even see what everybody else clearly saw on the challenged replays. There is an agenda. There always has been.

Yeah, they were pretty bad. But it's the same guy who called a fumble a tuck. No wonder he doesn't understand down by contact.

It couldnt be more clear if you ask me. It seems like the definition of "down by contact" Cotch was laying on the ball and the defender comes and jumps on him, punching the ball out from under Cotch. HOW IS THAT NOT DOWN BY CONTACT. He was already on the ground, if the defender had come up and just tapped him on the back the play would have been called dead, but because he jumped on top of him and pushed the ball out its a fumble?!?! Jesus these refs need to never work again.

The example they are setting , is the next time a fumble is recovered , you have to truck to the spot and belly flop right on top of the guy who recovered the ball! Then start punching the ball out and it will be a fumble recovery. If its the jets it will be unnecessary roughness.

Did anyone hear Adam Shine on the Jets post game show defending the refs call on that play? Ray looked like he wanted to spit on Adam for saying that was a good call.

I'm not sure that was what the issue is? I thought the reason he wasn't down by contact is he never got control of the ball under him? The original fumbled toss was never considered recovered?

He was laying on top of ball, and the ball wasnt moving. The defender then came in and fell on him and punched the ball out from under him with his left arm. Maybe they are saying he never had possesion, but thats not what happened and the fact they said it wasnt reviewable is another blunder by these fools. How is a fumble not reviewable? They announced that Mangini couldnt challenge because a fumble recovery cant be challenged, maybe so but why cant you callenge the actual fumble?!? Maybe im just retarded but I've seen MANY fumble challenges.

i get what you are saying but the refs aren't thinking the same way you are. what the refs on the field decided was that the original fumble on the pitch was never actually recovered by cotch. because he never had possession no down by contact can be called and therefore no review because i guess you can't challenge if a fumble was recovered.

i dont agree with how they called the play but thats how they called it. the way they called it would make a challenge impossible because the only fumble we could challenge is the one that cotch fell on which was obvious.

True. I think that the first TD -- even though we scored right away -- was a huge play.
Jets have played from ahead in this streak.

Again -- the refs didnt stop our pass rush -- but you can discount those calls either.

I get what you are saying, you cant challenge the fact that Cotch "regained" control of the fumble because that is a "fumble recovery" and by rule cannot be challenged. This seems like a bad loophole in the rules. To me we should have been able to challenge that he regained control of the ball and hence the was no longer a fumble and would have been down by contact.

and i agree with you. i dont know why they couldn't challenge that cotch had possession of the ball and was down by contact. but even if they could have reviewed it i highly doubt that they would have overturned it because those refs were god awful.

Once I heard the ruling that the play couldn't be challenged, you knew it was going to be a long day.

It looked like he was on top of the ball and trying to get posession when it was punched out. The ball never was in Cotch's control. That's how it appeared. I think they should have reviewed it to see if he did have posession but I didn't think at the time he did.

Pretty shitty as was the bitch broncos flopping to kill our momentum but we sucked today anyway. Our d couldn't get no pressure , Cutler destroyed us passing the ball and Peyton hillis a rookie Fullback ran it through us pretty damn good. Terrible game and where not who we thought we were but where still in First , For now.
