The additions of Mitchell and Stroud may give them the best defense in the division. Still, I"m sure the Jets are not done yet. The addition of a good right tackle and another player on the defensive side (LB, S or CB) will push them to the top
You mean the same Stroud who had micro-fracture surgery? An injury that could take a minimum of 2 years to recover from? If at all? I love Stroud when healthy, but that's been rare. Adding Mitchell and getting Posluzny back from injury will boost them up, and Ko Simpson.
Hard to take anything you say seriously after you declared that Faneca would never come to the Jets!!!! How did that little prediction work out for you??!!!
I think it's a little early to be handing out grades... Let's wait until after the draft... There are plenty of free agents out there.
I think the Bills get a good LB in Mitchell. I would be very surprised if Stroud plays more than half the season. He's not even close to being the Stroud of pre-2006.
Mitchell is completely overrated. I've heard from many giants fans that he didn't do much for the team and that they were glad he was leaving instead of paying a ton of money for him. Stroud is way over the hill. They are very ok pickups, but nothing special.
We just acquired 2 players who have plenty of good football left and have 10 pro-bowls between them- Im not sure I understand how Buffalo has done better than us
I didn't say he would never come to the Jets...I questioned why he would choose a team with a coach who likes his players to keep their mouths shout. Now we know the answer...$40 million.
From what I understand, Faneca isnt even a loud player- he just expressed his frustration regarding his contract status a few times
Wrong again! He came because he likes the Jets chances and how Mangini runs things. The other offers were very comparable in terms of money. Just admit you were totally off base instead of pulling a Clemens!!!!
No way the Bills are having a better offseason than the Jets... And im not just saying this as a die hard Jets fan either. Stroud.... Lets see how he plays without Henderson helping him out. The Jets went and trades a 3rd and a 5th for K.Jenkins who larger than V.Wilfork.... K.Jenkins is a 3-4 NT with his size, strenght, and skill. Lets not forget that D.Haris could have been the rookie of the year last year playing BEHIND Robertson who is a 4-3 DT trying to play the role of a 3-4 NT, it wasnt working AT ALL. A.Faneca is ONLY 31 years old... K.Mawae is still playing strong for the Tittans at the age of 37. Faneca will make the Jets left side one of the strongest Left Side O-Lines in the league with... Ferguson-Faneca-Mangold. Thomas Jones rushed the ball for what? About 1200 yards last year behind our O-Line? He should be a killer for this Jets offense this year. Add the fact that the Jets are in hot pursuit of players such as Woody, Olivea, Gay, Pace and some others... I dont see the Bills 2 moves better than the Jets 2 moves, no way.
I don't know if anybody else has heard this but I heard a rumor the Lions were looking at trading Roy Williams to Toronto for JP Losman and a2nd round pick. Crazy yes but apparently people love JP
I hope that deal doesnt go through... I dont want the Bills having M.Lynch, L.Evans and Roy Williams.... T.Edwards could be a great QB with that Offense
Yea...I'm not sure signing a decent LBer and trading for a very injured DT strikes me as a kickass offseason.
Stroud loves the roids, and Kawika is a poor signing(a perfect example of NFL-esque beer goggles following a Superbowl run)..Larry Brown, anyone
The key to stopping the run in this league, which people always fail to realize, is having large, morbidly obese men in the middle. Stroud is a monster. Moreover, his height in the middle really makes it difficult for quarterbacks. I'm not excited about our six foot nothing quarterback looking over the middle on third down with this guy around. -X-
