"For example - The Pats can clinch a first round bye if they win and Houston (or Denver, but leave them out in this scenario) loses. Since Houston plays before them they will know if it matters if they win or not. So it would make sense to bet Houston to win and NE to lose and Houston to lose and NE to win (however, this one doesn't really make a lot of sense to bet because the ML is so big for NE and even if Houston does win their game NE will likely still want to win just in case)"
