Guys. Want to take my 13 year old twins to a ski resort close to Madison. Willing to drive 2 hours or so. Have zero snow experience. Want my kids to learn how to ski/sled. Looking for a resort name that will offer lessons and also equipment rental. Can you please chime in?

Brook there are a few,,,,,,,and not too far = Mount Peter comes to mind its in Warwick. If you want to take them tubing there are a few places not too far as there is one that I have never been to in mahwah and then there is Thomas Bull Memorial park that we have been to many times = lots of fun. BTW if things break right you might be able to Ski on your street next week :D

The hill in mahwah might be a good place to get started if you have no idea what you’re doing but check to make sure about rentals and lessons

Come to the Poconos, aka the 6th borough and ski at Camelback. I grew up 5 minutes from there, beautiful mountain. Stay the weekend and enjoy the indoor waterpark Aquatopia which is a lot of fun, even for adults.

    Check out onthesnow.com

conditions are so variable in the northeast you really can’t reliably plan in advance. Almost always a game time decision in the morning so you’re wise to look for someplace that’s a short drive.

You can always hit the slopes where ever you want. You just need to know the right person in a shady area.

Check out Mt Hood. A little bit further drive than 2 hours but better than those puny NE hills

Somebody from work also suggested that. Too many options. Will book something soon. Thanks my friend. :)

NJ? Try Mountain Creek in Vernon Township.

    https://www.mountaincreek.com/

It used to be called Vernon Valley/Great Gorge. I used to ski there as a teenager. That was when The Playboy Club was a mile or so away. That later became low income housing, then a gigantic, dilapidated hotel that was only partially opened for operation. A lot of drugs, prostitution, some stabbings, and a couple of murders. Happy skiing!
