On my drive in this morning I was listening to sirius NFL radio. The morning was co-hosted by an active player I beleive it was Ray Buchanan. The other host said you a few choices, Tampa Bay, the Jets or go out on your terms and retire. Has anyone heard anything about him and the Jets. If available for the right price is he worth it? Sorry the information was sketchy, but I caught it in the middle of the discussion. I listened for 10 minutes after that and they never said who was co-hosting in that time.
Big Play Ray. A bit long in the tooth for a team in rebuilding mode, and I am relatively comfortable with our current safety group (I don't think Ray can play CB anymore). Wasn't he out of football last year?
From what I have found he didnt play last year but here are his stats from the Raiders 2004 only def. no special teams G Solo Ass. Int. Yards 16 65.0 26 0 1 27 I really dont think that we need another retiree on the team
Actually, it was Brad Hopkins from Tennessee. He said he was leaning towards retirement, but that could just be a smokescreen.
Thanks for clearing that up. I wasn't sure who it was, but i knew they mentioned the Jets. Did not intend to post misinformation. Is Hopkins any good?
I think Bob Papa said he made two Pro Bowls. Basically a cap casualty this year at age 35. Here's his ESPN bio: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=2584
I hope we sign Hopkins just so we don't take D'Brick first round. Can he play RT or has he ever played there?
