I know this years defense hasn’t been great, but given the young talent that is blossoming, and his ability to put together a game plan most weeks that keeps us in games, is his personality too toxic to keep him under a new regime?
IMO that is solely up to the next HC. Even Douglas shouldn't make that decision, and especially the Johnsons shouldn't. That has to be solely up to the new HC.
Exactly. He stays only if the new HC wants him to stay. He is serviceable for sure but no reason to force him on the new HC.
Nope. I never wanted him and hate his guts and dislike everything he's ever stood for. Jet players don't respect that pos prick either. He's a coward who forced his innocent kids to not only injure players on the field with dirty/vicious hits but also.. A.) Pays them for injuring a veteran. B.) Pays them for hurting a Pro Bowl player. C) Pays them for ACL tears. D.) Pays them for leaving on a stretcher. E.) Pays them for season ending injuries. F.) Pays them for CAREER ENDING INJURIES. Etc. Etc. Can not be respected. He literally made players and GOOD KIDS like Vilma attempt to injure and hurt his peers (opposing players) and had bounties under those A-F scenarios (plus more of them). He's an undisciplined man and runs an undisciplined defense and is an absolute scumbag pos of a phony COWARD and deserves to be banned from the game of Football. I hate Gregg Williams more than I dislike Adam Gase; a scumbag like Gregg can not be respected not even by his own teammates/players. Seeing him on our sidelines and interacting with our kids absolutely disgusts me; it's sickening. And his "exotic" blitz packages are no longer exotic and have been figured out by the league (a long time ago) and simple quick passes now destroy a boring Gregg Williams led defense because like Rex of 2011 and beyond his once exotic blitz packages are now stale, bland, PREDICTABLE and boring.
At this point I would like to see all of our coaches sent packing but with seven games left I see no point in making any decisions yet.
No....Theres no reason to...New coachs dont tend to hang on to old staff members unless ownership forces them to.And that only happens with rookie head coaches most of the time. Now you see why we the Jets told Mcarhty he couldnt hire his own staff...they didnt want Nolan on defense.
No. It's funny, a couple of weeks ago, everyone seemingly wanted him gone and now we're entertaining the idea of keeping him around. For all of his strengths as a DC, his players often play with little regard for discipline, as we've seen for much of this season with all of the personal fouls. He can call a good defense, but at the same time I don't think that he's so good that the positives outweigh the significant negatives that his presence carries with it.
GW might be a good DC, but there are times when its just best to go with a clean slate top to bottom. Maybe if JD brings some talent in at HC, that coach will chose wisely who is on his staff.
Nope.He isnt team oriented. He threw Gase under the bus to media as soon as 0-16 became a realistic conclussion. Its never about pointing the finger in this sport its about sucking it up & being acccountable. Hes no better than Jamal Adams in this regard.
I agree with DWC. Gregg Williams is an excellent DC who creates unique ways to keep his players engaged, hard hitting, and feared around the league. Keep him if at all possible! He does more with less than any DC we've had in a long time.
