Daniel Jeremiah has speculated that the Jets & Giants could be part of a 3-way trade where the Jets trade a 1st or 2nd round pick to one team, that team trades the Jets a proven player the Jets want, and then trades the Jets' 2nd round pick plus their 1st & 2nd round picks, plus next year's 1st for Rodgers or Wilson or Watson. One person said that in that scenario, the Jets could wind up with Jerry Jeudy. Would you make that trade?
In the 1st part it says JETS trade a 2nd. By the end it says JETS Traded a 2nd and a 23' 1st round pick for Jeudy? That's a "Proven Player"??? Guy was just drafted 2 years ago, hasn't complete a full season and never broke 1k yards...wow. Bars are set low these days.
No I think it is saying the Jets trade a 2nd to Denver for Jeudy then Denver send 2x1sts (22 & 23) plus the 2nd from the Jets to Houston for Watson. Not well written though so I could be wrong.
I wouldn't trade a 2nd and a '23 1st for any player. I didn't notice the '23 first. I actually have mixed feelings about trading any draft pick(s) for a proven player. It's rare that one doesn't have to wildly overpay for a proven quality player, especially a playmaker. Even then, those trades don't always work out like they did for the Rams. I was just curious what others would think on a slow Jets news day. EDIT: I believe that MoWilkBeast has it right. I saw that trade suggested by another user, and it had Denver trading their 2023 1st round pick, not the Jets. That makes more sense.
I think you're right, because I saw that suggested another time on Twitter, and it was Denver trading their 2023 1st round pick. Besides that's the only thing that makes sense for a team trading for one of those 3 QBs.
I am all for trading one of our picks in 2nd round for a proven player as long as said player isn't an old washed up player. Give me a decent corner or a decent WR or a decent Offensive Guard and take my 2nd round pick away. Wheel and deal baby. I believe in Trader Joe. He will land us decent players this off season one way or another. or else, his ass will be closer to the fire.
in the posted scenario the Broncos trade Jeudy to the Jets for their 2nd rounder and then include that 2nd in a package for Watson. The Broncos already have two of their own second rounders so why the fuck would they trade Jeudy?????????/
Would you be in favor of trading one of our 2nd round picks or even the #10 pick for a different proven player? If so, who?
I could be convinced to trade the 10 for Metcalf. Probably the only realistic trade I could do for one of our firsts. The second rounders are much easier to part with. I'd be very open to a slightly older (<=28), but proven player with one of those.
Me personally, I would trade a 1st right now for Kupp...I cant believe the kid didnt go until the 3rd round...
really depends on what the player and pick is. I'd say only if we can address a need that saves us using a pick. I'd be happy to add judy for a 2nd rounder. he's on his rookie deal, he's a good WR, fills a need for us and then we can use our 2 1sts on hamilton and edge
he wasn't great from the get go. he also ran slow out of the combine. he got better after his injury, he learned to run better and gained speed as well as worked on his mental aspect and improved route running. 3rd was a fair spot for him, he's just someone who had more ability then shown in college and worked himself into his full potential to be a top WR. plenty of prospects like kupp fall off
To be fair, I was stationed in Spokane Washington when Kupp played for EWU. I watched every single home game he had, the kid had it from the start. Did it take him a year or two to adjust to the NFL coming from EWU? Heck yeah it did, but his work ethics on all aspects of being a wideout were on display at EWU. I thought he should have gone in the 2nd round that year, and I was pissed the Jets didnt draft him
To me, the answer is "Yes". We see all these mock drafts, but the truth is I just want 4 great players with those picks. What I wouldn't want is to package 2 of them for 1 player. The Jets have too many holes. They can get 4 impact players with those picks. If JD thinks a veteran is better than a rookie with 1 of those 4, I would definitely be fine with it.
