Should the Jets look at Owen Schmitt?

    He seems to be a pretty good fullback at West Virginia.

    I am not sure how he is projected or anything, but I would think he can succeed in the NFL.

    The Jets need a solid fullback, that is for sure. Sometimes Barnes isn't even active.

    Any thoughts on Owen Schmitt?

    I don't want to waste a draft pick on a fullback...especially anything before the 5th round.

    Sure he's an awesome blocker and can do things with the ball after the catch, but he's mainly lined up in a shotgun spread option formation. He rarely comes out of a weak, strong, or I formation.

    Barnes is a capable blocker, but we'll probably end up bringing another free agent in after this season.

    i would be kinda dumb to waste a pick on a FB. i do like him but we have bigger needs.

    I'd rather have Jacob Hester due to his versatility but you can't deny Schmitts talent.
