wait, how did this get move from the Jets forum to the Draft forum and not the cesspool? This is a cesspool thread
Bahahaha... If Mambo bashes your trade idea, you know you've written the worst thread in TGG history.
Fuck that!! Go Ditka and draft Newton!!! I know we have Sanchez, but I don't want the Bills to get Newton!!!
First, I'm against trading up in rd 1 of this draft. If we did trade up into 10- 15 range...it should be for JJ Watt....not Mark Ingram. News broke today that LT is staying...with Greene and McK we will be fine for a year. Next year I would have no issue looking at another RB in the early rounds.
He's still got a lot to prove. I like Greene, but I'm not wholly opposed to bringing in a runningback. With the news of LT's return, that's probably out the window, but Greene still has to prove he's a starting NFL runningback. McKnight has proven nothing, and LT is getting older. If there were an elite runningback available that was a great value, I'd definitely consider it, especially if the other options didn't look so great. That said... Trading up again is stupid. Trading up for a runningback when you want to give Greene another chance to be the guy is dumb. Ingram's a nice player, but Greene/Tomlinson/McKnight is fine. If Ingram was there with our first rounder, I wouldn't completely dismiss him. But trading up for a position that is not a need and a position that is easier to fill than almost any other position on the roster is a bad idea.
The Jets are going RBBC in 2011 with 3 backs. That will have a significant effect on Greene's ability to put up Pro Bowl stats.
