I would have a feeling that having a tall WR with great hands to move the chains on third down is all we need for Clemens to excel in the system, could of addressed a lot of other needs in this draft, I hope Sanchez has someone legit to throw to besides Keller and Cotchery
I agree...Crabtree is the top guy in the draft...low bust risk, and Hall of Fame potential. A typical Tannenbaum pick...give away the store to make himself look good in April. We'll see how excited people are in August when Sanchez's head is spinning and we hear about things like the speed of the game.
I was thinking when we traded up that we were going to take Crabtree, I will be pissed if Clemens turns out to be great.
Maclin will still be on the board at #17. We could have sat tight and gotten the 2nd best WR in the draft without giving up a thing!
It's should have. Should have not should of. Anyway I don't agree. This franchise has needed a franchise QB for 35 years now
I don't get you. You were crying for Brett Ratliff to play, now you don't want a QB? But you wanted a guy who threw a few pre-season bombs. Wow. And gave up the store? A 2nd rounder and 3 players, 2 were backups. Cry me a river.
when he moved up from 25 to 14 to take revis were you bitching then? revis is now a pro bowl player.. Tannenbaum since he took over as gm has done extremely well
Crabtree woudve been a great pick too, but after listening to craig and boomer esiason ok the radio last week I knew it woulnt happen.he told them he haddrawn no interest frm the jets
That is true, having 2 potential starting QBs on this squad could be beneficiary, and I guess they weren't sold on Ratliff after all. I'm questioning what the Jets are doing here, but Sanchez vs Clemens is going to be the ultimate test for Clemens, he wins this he deserves it completely
There are lots of very good receivers to be had in this draft. There were only a couple exceptional QBs. The Jets made the right move, and it was a great one!
Yes, I was bitching when the Jets traded away picks for Revis. Mike Tannenbaum is the Bernie Madoff of the NFL. New Yorkers gave Madoff their money and he made it disappear. New York Jet fans suffer through playoff-less seasons, earning draft picks with their disappointment and frustration, and Tannenbaum gives them away by the handful, year-after-year. Today's deal is another publicity pick to sell PSLs for Johnson and to give Fat Mike the false glow of GM who "gets things done." There is no talent or skill required in overpaying for players. This guy never trades down because he can't pick shit and he knows it. 115 Division 1 programs, hundreds of 1AA programs...find the Pro Bowler among them. Using your scouting system to identify another kid with equal promise. There's a reason why Ratliff was in the deal and not Clemens, and not because the Jets wanted Clemens. Tannenbaum, Taken Again, this time by his Fat Friend.
