How is the bold relevant at all to him as an NFL player?

Yeah he was a dynamic high school and college talent. Cool.

Just points out he's been successful @ all 3 levels. Nothing more, nothing less?

What about the bold below as an NFL player?

    76 out of a possible 85 games.
Has played 89.4% of his games since his rookie year injury.

    Second-team All-Pro (2016).
    ~ 3x Pro Bowler (2016-2018).

    ~ (including playoffs)

    ~ 256 tackles (186 solo).
    ~ 85 Quarterback hits.
~ 75 tackles for loss behind the L.O.S.
    ~ 33 1/2 sacks.
    ~ 16 pass deflections.
    ~ 9 Fumbles Forced.
    ~ 7 Fumble recoveries.
    ~ 4 Defensive Touchdowns.
    ~ 2 Interceptions.

What, doesn't fit your agenda either?

People use bold to highlight something, by bolding 90% of your post it kinda makes bolding pointless, maybe you could bold in a different colour every other line to make it stand out more?

33 1/2 sacks in 76 games is pretty telling as a pass rusher. Thanks for making the argument against him easier.

I am not so sure that the Jets couldn't be in contention for a division title this year with Brady being gone.

New England and Buffalo are still probably better. Heck, even Miami could be better if they draft Tua and he plays well. Regardless, we aren't anywhere near the Chiefs or Ravens. So I'd wait till next year before spending on defense.

Free agency isn't done yet and I am excited to see how JD does with the draft. We shall see.

I say no at any price. It's not like he's a game changer he's been on much better defenses than the Jets and yet still moving along. Maybe he's not a good teammate but these scouts and players talk and this guy has been labeled.

If he were half as good as you say he wouldn't be looking at possibly joining his third team in the past three years. No way Houston would've let him get away or Seattle. No way "one of the greatest edge setting and run stuffing machines who've ever played his position(s) along with having pass rushing ability" would be having this much trouble finding a deal on the open market.

The guy has talent, he has upside that's why he might be worth the risk for the Jets they've gone so long without a pure pass rusher why not take a chance see if this guy can finally reach his potential playing for Gregg Williams?

No guarantees. Risky. He's no sure thing.

Douglas is trying a different approach. Let's see how it plays out first. 5 years ago Clowney on the street the Jets would have gave him what he wanted no questions asked.

Can the Jets get him now that they've traded away Adams?

I think they have to to try to replace the sacks Adams gave them last year/would've given them this year.

It doesn’t feel like a Douglas move. It also has the additional complexity of giving a Clowney a contract that allows him to save face while his stock value plummets. A one-year deal in a COVID-affected season wouldn’t really work and a multi-year deal could be prohibitively expensive. I think we’ll use one of the Seattle firsts on a pass-rusher. 2020 may be a good season to write-off, all things considered.

What's a Joe Douglas move? He's only been on the job about a year.

Gregg Williams is good but he needs players expecting him to make chicken salad out of ...

He just lost his best player.

Isn't fair to him. Go get Clowney but no one year deal just in case he blows up in Williams' scheme.

Trade malcontents, don’t overpay for alleged star players, sign players from next tier down.

Don't be surprised if GM Douglas uses some of that draft capital ... right now.... to obtain a player in a trade and we CAN sign him to long term.

Jaguars... Yannick Ngakoue.... it would be a brilliant move to sign a trade for a top 5 rush DE that this team DESPERATELY needs, all the while, you could say he drafted A. Davis to replace Adams, which likely will give us a better coverage safety than Adams was.

I look at it this way Gregg Williams schemes made Jamal Adams a good pass rusher, let's see what he does in Seattle w/o him

    Adams can do it all.

I wouldn't be surprised if he has a 10 sacks, 10 int. season at some point in his career.

I don't know if that's ever been done before. I doubt it.

Jamal has 2 INTs in three years. Maybe he should work on averaging 1 a year before he tries for 10 in a season.

His career is just getting started.

It'd suck to draft a rookie that's already to close to being a finished product.

As good as Adams has been early in his career he can still improve. I think he has the talent & mindset to do it.
