Selecting Shonn Greene tells me that Thomas Jones day's are limited with the Green & White. Jones is suppose to get to get a 3+ Mill bonus in 2010 and his contract goes way up into huge numbers. The Jets aren't going to invest huge money on a 31 year old RB. If Jones wants to show up and play out 2009...fine, but the Jet's aren't going to cave to TJ's demands...he has no leverage. Rex wants to run the ball and take the pressure off his QBs. Greene will be a nice compliment to Leon. Maybe the Jets will try and trade TJ today....doubt there will be many takers.
I still didnt believe in a RB until round 4 but meh. Thought WR, QB, DE would be more important. You can live with 1 year of Jones/Washington I believe and then take the RB next year. With that said, Greene can play and will be a contributor if used right(Yes Scottenheimer used right)
