Shonn Greene is also not Joe McKnight, or Bilal Powell, or Danny Woodhead, or Danny Ware, or Hilary Clinton, or Ben Hartsock, or Kris Humphries, or Mark Zuckerberg, or Mike Westhoff, or Jerry Sandusky. This is a good thread idea, let's just name people in the world who aren't Shonn Greene. Can anyone think of any more? I just saw Ray Lucas on TV and I realized he's not Shonn Greene either, add that to the list.
here's some good news ... Tim Tebow is not Tom Brady. Neither is Ryan Fitzpatrick. Rex Grossman is DEFINITLY NOT Tom Brady. Matt Moore? ... nope. I think we're safe with Matt Cassell too. we should be fine from here on in.
Because their running game isn't good enough to be picking up first downs on 1st and 2nd down and their QB isnt accurate enough nor are their WRs good enough route runnners to consistently convert on 3rd and short. "Committing" to the run might slightly reduce the number of 3 and outs we see from the offense but its not going to result in many if any more points. The Jets need to be attacking the intermediate and deep passing plays to effectively move the ball and put points on the board.
LOL 4.8 YPC Brb going 5 wide when my running attack is gaining 5 yards a pop Brb my line cant block but I wont put in more protection
Greene was ripping off some decent runs early in the game. It seemed like the Jets wanted to attack the intermediate and deep routes in the game but just couldn't. Either Sanchez was getting gunshy or WRs just weren't getting open. And if the WRs aren't good enough route-runners than what good would throwing more deep and intermediate routes do? Either way, the offense abandoned the run early and it hurt the team. I really don't see the point in throwing away a potential weapon in the running game, especially when that weapon can keep Tom Brady on the sideline for longer and keep the defense rested.
