the chargers placed OLB Shawn Merriman on IR for his injuried calf.only problem is his injury will not keep him out all year.only a 1-2 week injury.but the chargers byrule of the NFL must release him once he is healthy and is clear to sign with any NFL team he likes.

    I doubt it will happen.

Wasn't there some connection with him and Tila Tequila, and Woody's daughters death?

I don't know, but the Jets dominate at reviving Chargers talent that has gone by the wayside.

The only connection was that he choked out Tila Tequila when she was banging him, and Tila was Woody's daughters girlfriend when Woody's daughter passed.

no way we should sign him

he would be no higher then 4th on the depth chart at olb and he doesnt play special teams

he is a pass rusher who cant rush the passer anymore

jason taylor, calvin pace, and bryan thomas are all better then him

If they release him it'll be because of medical reason... I'm not sure we're willing to invest money on a guy in bad physical conditions.

We already have many big players to re-sign... let's use the money on them.

I'm sure they're looking into it. I wouldn't mind at all seeing him line up with our team.

If we do get him it'll be tough getting him playing time.

apparently not, nobody could possibly not grasp such a simple situation as described. or maybe so, because this following statement is too ridiculous to avoid responding to.
and how would picking up Merriman for this season keep us from signing players after the season?

Yea man, we could get him on the cheap for a one year deal. With JT already looking like a transformer it would be great to have a Merriman to rotate in.

unlike Jason taylor and LT.......Shawn Merriman really is finished

    and he's not even old.

The guy needs to get back on juice because ever since that year he has been a shadow of his former self. he doesn't have the explosiveness or power he had. i think his injuries have permanently affected the way he plays.

it's not just nagging injuries. it's altered his career.

i mean, if anyone can make a player out of him it's rex but all you have to do is watch him the past couple of years and see he's not even a shell of the lights out sack machine. Ever since MJD layed that motherfucker out lol

Under normal circumstances...I'd agree with you....but this guy has been a shadow of his former self ever since Goodell took away his HGH cocktails.

Nah. It will already affect our bad locker-room chemistry.

That's not really true. He had a great season in 2007, well after his bust. He's been injured ever since, which should be the sole concern. He would cost little and no one will sign him past this season. There would be very little potential risk for us.
