First off, we all know Ellis had a huge game, but I just remember at one point saying out loud, "Shaun Ellis is having the game of his life." I think at the end of his career, we will look back when somebody mentions his name, and we will recollect this very game today. Ellis has always played hard for this team and has been one of my favorite Jets, it was so great to see him have a game like that. As I mentioned in another thread, I would love for him to get a ring and retire in a Jets uniform. Finally, I can not find a full version of the interview online, but I love Bart Scott calling out Tom Jackson and Keyshawn. That entire interview with Sal Palantonio was truly priceless. I will admit it had me hysterical the first time I saw it, but I could not believe this man's passion. Some people were calling it "classless" (everybodys favorite phrase to throw around it seems), and of course they were all Patriot fans, but all I saw was a man who lives for football and takes the game to heart. I was honestly moved by his interview, he almost seemed close to tears (of rage, passion, etc?). This guy has a genuine love for football that is palpable, and I appreciate that. He also had a pretty good locker room interview as well that was aired all over SNY. Somebody needs to call out Tom Jackson because all he does is hate on the Jets, and Keyshawn can go to hell for not having the Jets back. So basically Ellis and Scott are getting a bunch of man love from me today. Theres so much to appreciate about this game and so many guys who stepped up but those are the two I picked to start an over joyous thread about. Another year, another AFC championship game! Same Old Jets baby!
He actually gave Keyshawn props for being the only one who backed the Jets. But yeah, Ellis has been a great Jet. He's basically the Mo Lewis of the current generation. Not the flashiest guy but he just shows up and plays. Hope he can get a ring this year.
I didn't get to see the Chris Berman crew but Bart Scott did call out Keyshawn for "not having our backs" and Im not surprised hes always been bitter.
I thought Herm was the only one to pick the Jets. They had a breakdown of who picked whom, and Herm was the only one on that list. The rest (Including Keyshawn) picked the pats.
Ah, I see. He could have said that he loved his mother in that interview and it still would have sounded like he called her out, he was ragin.
That's wrong. Bart Scott called out Tom Jackson for bashing us all damn week and gave Keyshawn props for picking us. Johnson definitely picked us because all of those other idiots (Carter and Jackson) gave him a hard time about it.
As mentioned, Keyshawn was the only ESPN analyst to pick the Jets in today's picks. Assuming Tom Jackson wasn't giving the Jets much of a chance prior to the game, I give him credit for giving them their due in the postgame show on ESPN. He flat out said that the Jets were the better team today and convincingly beat the great Pats. Good for him.
He did it as a joke because he was so far behind on their betting pool that he didn't care. You can tell he hates Rex Ryan's style. He said that he could never play for him. Different strokes for different folks I guess, he was a hell of a player.
Jackson and Carter have always been haters. I honestly hope Carter doesn't make it into the HoF this season and Martin does. I would love nothing better for that ballot. Pittsburgh delenda est.
