I said it in a previous thread. He needs to change the org structure and hire a team president. Not looking for a “football guy”, but an experienced sports executive with a track record. Basically he needs to fire himself and stay away much like Jim Dolan has. Heck Dolan hired an agent to run the team. Maybe try that?
I don't think there's anything we could do. Why would Woody even care? He has to put absolutely zero effort into this and he sees his franchise increase in value at an almost exponential rate. He's not going anywhere, no matter how much we peons protest. He doesn't even care what we think. Probably doesn't even notice the anger in the fanbase because he's too busy counting his billions. He can't even bother to put a decent playing surface down for his employees, why would he care what we have to think?
Joe Douglas is a GM. I want the GM reporting to the president and the president reporting to Woody. We need another layer of management.
The jets are worth over 5 billion bucks and he bought the time for 10x less. You could raise 500M bucks to try to “embarrass” him and he wouldn’t wipe his but with it
I think Woody has taken necessary heat. Everyone wanted him to go get Rodgers. He made that happen. Woody spent a shit ton of money this season to change the Jets fortunes. Putting a lot of cash into escrow. Team President is the answer.
Not everybody. There were a lot of us who wanted Carr over Rodgers for a few reasons. We also wanted McCarthy over Gase too. VP of Football ops is the answer. Exactly why Woody will never do it.
It doesn't matter what Woody does. He may end up hiring a VP, but it'll be another Maccagnan situation where we hire some past-their-prime football guys to lead the search and they end up with someone who couldn't tell the difference between their ass or a hole in the ground. He doesn't know what he's looking for which means that he'll never find it through anything other than sheer, blind, stupid luck.
Maybe he will. He’s older now and he’s got to be frustrated. Like I said he spent a lot of money on this years roster. At this point I’d almost be willing to bring back Tannenbaum and put him in the team president role. Hes definitely the smartest guy Woody had.
I think he should think outside the box and just hire someone really smart. I’d look at MLB executives as they are the most cutting edge.
Everyone could have a million signatures on a petition and it would still not do anything, you are wasting your time, the only way that Woody is gone is when Woody dies
This isn't as crazy an idea as some people are saying. We need a complete overhaul on the philosophy of this organization. Analytics have to be at the forefront. A lot of the core principles for that apply across different sports.
Not hard to realize we won't be on many national TV games in '24. The game that we are scheduled for at home? Bag it and try to get on camera as often as you can. We may not be able to affect Woody's bottom line, but we sure as hell can trash the image of the Jets as some well run organization. As image conscious as Woody is, he'll get the message.
Last year the only Monday night game they gave us was during the preseason. But with the "promise" of Rodgers, we'll get 3 PT games.

Dolan did it with the Rangers for a long time too. He meddled in the Knicks for two decades before he stepped back and did the same thing he did with the Rangers and poof suddenly they’re not a laughing stock.
