Somebody has a chip on his shoulder. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/01/12/seymour-would-consider-31-teams/ Sign with the gang green, Richard....we hate New England too.
WOOOOO!!!!! Clemens' contract cannot be up sooner. I never thought I would be so happy for the prospect of this fucking asshole playing in green and white. San Diego delenda est.
Stupid senile Al Davis. You'd think they would've at least ensured they would be able to resign Seymor before handing Beli-cheat a (likely top 5) first round draft pick. Smart move giving up one of the top picks in the draft to rent the services of a player for one year on a team that would be lucky to win 6 games. We have to actually root for the Raiders to somehow do well next year to try to move that pick a bit lower in the 2011 draft.
he is a good player...It would be great only if Gholston wasnt chewing the money from our cap on Protein wheat shakes
I posted this in another thread, but it is relevant to this discussion: http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d808736ba&template=with-video&confirm=true Unless the CBA is renegotiated, we are going to have to lose someone big to bring in a player like Seymour. San Diego delenda est.
I can't believe The Raiders won't franchise him and then give him a long term deal. What the fuck did you give the Pats the pick for then? I'm still happy it happened because I really believe not having Richard Seymour was a part of the Pats demise this year even if they do get a top 8 pick but Jesus Al what a waist of an investment.
Still such a weird trade. Awful, just god fucking awful idea from the Raiders side and it definitely hurt the Pats badly this year even though in the long run it will probably be a huge positive for them. And yes, obviously he won't be coming back to New England anytime soon, and I don't blame him. Trading him to that abyss of a franchise was the equivalent of saying "Get the fuck out and don't let the door hit you on your ass." I don't know if the Jets have the money or Seymour has the interest, but I could definitely see him ending up in Green next year. Other top contenders are the Chiefs and Browns. Whether or not his performance will be close to his under 30 years is an entirely different discussion though.
Braylon Edwards for Richard Seymour wouldn't be a bad swap... Leon Washington will probably make a decent amount of cash too if he enters free agency.
well if JaMarcus is the one throwing it to them, the number of drops won't be too bad, bc they won't be near the damn ball.
Tannenbaum is not going to let that one happen. If anyone has any interest in Leon, he's getting a high RFA tender. We either scare off potential suitors or we get draft picks back for him. With no cap and so many potential RFAs, I doubt we let too many guys flat out walk if they can be of any remote use to the team. San Diego delenda est.
is it a player of elite caliber that needs to be lost to obtain a high quality FA? Or just a player with a monster contract? say Gholston? It certainly would be worth dropping him for a shot at adding a single elite level player that could push us over the top....
It is based on the contract that departing FAs receive from their new teams, not the ones they had with their old team. Also, I'm not sure if a player that was cut from the team counts or if it's only players with expired contracts who leave. I imagine it's the same rules as determining compensatory picks with the draft so if anyone knows there, feel free to clarify. San Diego delenda est.
Hey guys, this was probably one of the dumbest trades ever..... That being said, I want to add some intelligence to it:
:drunk: This boggles the mind. The Raiders rented Seymour for one season in exchange for a first rounder.
