http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/jets/serby_sunday_with_jason_taylor_y3XJkaIBZzfcrg7vGvFQ9J As usual, another player who loves Rex. Good read, and his son are know Jet Fans, both have Sanchez jerseys haha
Post the content and the link next time please. I'm on my phone on Coronado Beach, when I click the link I get this story: In the late 1950s, self-styled “Bishop” Devernon LeGrand began recruiting women — some just teenagers — to his unregistered “St. John’s Pentecostal Church of Our Lord” in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. He directed his harem of fake nuns to panhandle across the city, and reportedly sired 47 children with them by 1965, when investigators found kids “caged” inside the building at 222 Brooklyn Ave. In the 1970s LeGrand was convicted of murdering his ex-wife, raping a woman in the church and killing two teen girls. The teen nuns’ bodies were found in an upstate lake. LeGrand died in prison in 2006.
Good read. Pleased to see that another player can testify for Rex's greatness. Fun fact: my dad actually watched Super Bowl III in Steve Serby's room with Gary Serby. I just recently found out that Steve is a Jets beat writer haha
He asked that because of the Osi Umenyiora quote about if he could have 15 or 20 sacks or sex he'd take 15 or 20 sacks. I've actually totally warmed up to the whole JT in green thing. I think he's totally bought in. Seems like everybody who thinks Rex is just a bag of hot air spends about 15 minutes playing for him and then starts drinking the Kool-aid.
I couldn't read past when JT said "A: Chant it up! J-E-T-S!" I think I want to throw up. This is awful man...Zach Thomas would have never gone to NY.
big difference is that Thomas got to play in Dallas, and Taylor had to choose between NY and retirement, and chose to keep playing. I don't blame him for doing this, and I blamed chad severely for not even playing the market, and instantly joining the Fins the day after his release just to get back at NY. I firmly believe that if Chad had waited a little bit, and signed in Minnesota, the dolphins would have been a team with a .500 ceiling as opposed to the team that overacheived to an 11-5 season with a division win.
I can almost guarantee that Rex will send him out for the coin toss 9/26 Sunday Night. He did that a few times last year with former players.
It's all business though.. at least you know he's still a Dolphin at heart. With Pennington, he probably hates the Jets and Jets fans more than JT does. And having rooted for the guy for years, that's hard to accept.
+2 and I'm a little surprised I'm alright with it. He was a jackass when he was a Dolphin and I loved to hate the guy more than probably anyone else in the league, but honestly, he seems pretty down to earth about this whole thing.
The difference is that Taylor turned down an extension with Miami back in December. His excuse was "if they wanted me in December, why wouldn't they want me now (April) when I'm healthy (shoulder)"...How about why would you decline the offer in the first place because you wanted to test the market? I blame JT for that completely. Pennington was cut and that was after being jeered by his own fans. The pain for us die-hards is the same to see our players go to each other's teams, but from JT and Penny's perspective I think Pennington had much more motive and a greater excuse to go to Miami. The Dolphins would have no doubt re-signed JT after the draft, IMO. I still can't believe he's a Jet...nobody hated the fans or wanted to punch Fireman Ed right off that guy's shoulders more then he did and nobody wanted to beat the Jets more than him. I think it finally hit me though when I saw a youtube video of him signing autographs for fans and wearing that jersey and holding up a big Jet logo flag smiling at it. It was just 9 months ago that he was spiking the ball at that same logo.... No matter how you look at it though, he's a Jet and at the end of the day there is no excuse for that. It's a shame because he was my 2nd favorite Dolphin of all time and I was so pumped when he signed with us for one last hoo-rah last off season. He's dead to me now and I won't stand or clap when he is inducted into the ring of honor or HOF as a Dolphin.
