Last night was another sign of some issues with the secondary. Although Revis and Rhodes are playing well the same cannot be said for Lowery. Although Lowery played well in the first few games of the season he has recently hit the wall and QBs are exploiting his slow speed. In addition, our Linebackers are not the best at pass defense and it seems Brian Thomas has fallen off the map after an impressive first few games. I know we didn't have a pass rush last night but the fact is our pass defense is making QBs such as Thigpen look like all world. I don't know why the jets cut Millaer because at least he had cover speed. (I guess he must have really stunk in practice to have made the Jets decide to go with Law). As for the addition of Law I think he has lost quite a bit of speed and as we saw last night will compensate by playing way off the line.

I think a lot of our problems come from our LB's not being able to play in pass coverage, and not as much from our secondary. Although both could use some help.

Very true, our LB's have been god awful in coverage this season. Ben Watson destroyed us yesterday. We just didnt have anyone who could cover the above average TEs.

    Two things:

    1) Lowery is really struggling . . . he got toasted last night by Gaffney on what I thought was one of the biggest plays of the game (3rd and 10 right before the half for the first Pats TD - if they settle for 3 there going into the locker room, I think the game ends up being completely different in the second half and the Jets win comfortably)

    2) Our Linebackers are very poor in coverage. We have known this for weeks now and I just don't think there is much the coaching staff can do about it. Interestingly enough, Eric Barton (who has always struggled in coverage throughout his career) has played pretty well in coverage (and overall) this year.

Also we were only rushing 3 or 4... and when we did bring more we didn't get close.. so while we do have a lot of sacks league wise, some games we just can't touch the QB and that puts a lot of pressure on our DBs. Unfortuantely we can't clone Revis, so it is what it is.

IMO give Gholston a chance to rush and sit Thomas--I didn't hear Bryan's name at all last night

Lowery was stuck by himself with all the help going to cover Moss and Welker.
