Wont know for a while how badly hes hurt, but it looks like hes guaranteed to miss time. Eric Smith + Pool + ????? Are these guys going to be able to get us to the playoffs, are there ANY viable options this late in the season ?
Time for someone to step up Jets need new safeties next year anyway. Who remains at safety depends on who steps up. Just think about it this way, the learning curve is now.
huge loss again. now 2 shitty safeties playing the next 2 weeks against 2 good passing teams. we're in trouble defensively. even though we were playing soft, we gave up some yardage after jim left.
Can trades still be made? Nothing against trading a late rd pick for a guy who's contract will be over come the end of the year.
I expect to see a lot more 4 corners and 1 safety to compensate. No real safety behind Smith and Pool. Strickland and Kyle Wilson are going to need to step up. Feel really bad for Jimmy especially the way it happened.
I doubt that will happen though. 1. The team has been there before already 2. Last year's Foxboro game had disaster written all over it - Jimmy went out 3 days before the game and you just cannot make any meaningful adjustment in that time frame. That's not the case here certainly.
Jim got hurt the thursday before that game. The defense looked much better after that. As much as it hurts we will have a full week to prepare without him and that makes a big difference.
i read somewhere, I think zimmerman's twitter, that they think it is the pcl. He will get an MRI tomorrow to confirm.
